Ewing was clear #1 on my board, considered both Westbrook, Grant Hill and a third undrafted guy at number 3.

Even though I'm not the biggest Russ fan, I've seen people build great teams around him in even less forgiving themes, the eFG% will probably be quite lower on league average so he shouldn't hurt you as much there and it makes his astronomical rebounding numbers even more valuable.

i didnt do any research before my pick and was worried i was missing someone...i checked kobe first and then went right to the zo/ewing/amare group to get a quick pick in

i might have considered russ but probably not pulling the trigger...im a slave to the efg simgod

Lol why am I sitting here watching this like it’s the NBA draft? I’m not even part of this but I’m invested. Most interesting draft in a minute imo.

I think Russ is king of this pool too but could see the hesitation. Ewing, McGrady, Frazier, and Moncrief are all good picks too but I’m really curious to see what final rosters look like. Im sure some fun names will go.

I’ve been wondering this since the this draft was mentioned as a possibility. Where would Kobe go if he was available? He almost never gets picked so I assumed we would’ve found out. I’d assume before mcgrady at least.

Also my favorite player still hasn’t been picked probably shows how bad I’m going to do. Would be pretty cool if he fell to 13.

I asked several people mostly out of curiosity who they would take if they got the first pick and everyone said either Ewing or Westbrook. Did anyone have anyone else?

Depth I think is gonna be a bigger issue in this draft so I do think total minutes might have more value than before.

I had Westbrook clear 1 in part because the nature of this draft if that value is likely to be unstructured/unknown because we don't have draft patterns. So rather than strategy of positions or tendencies since it's hard to scout 7 rounds, I started by looking at the $ value of the player and Westbrook is comfortably the highest. The price you pay is high volume of poor shooting and TO's, but with lesser competition I think it's worth it. And the rebounds and assists help make up a lot and allow more flexibility in roster building.

I had Ewing two, not a lot of high volume scorers who play great D. After that it starts to fall off a bit and based on draft and roster building strategies.

I like Murray too. Hard to say what will be there for back up/depth. I haven't scouted quite enough myself. I'd assume it's somewhat relative though - if the player is good enough (Walton/Whiteside, etc) it's worth having more back up minutes.

I think backup minutes are another concern with Russ too. You just can't get anyone even close to that usage, so it's makes it tough to balance the total usage.

Boozer is a boogeyman. Most people know he leads to heartbreak in savage, but he is going to be a beast in the banned league imo
