I’m fine either way. I feel like the WIS game engine doesn’t make kickers/punters valuable enough to lose any sleep over it.

There have been a lot of college alumni theme leagues, and the few exceptions I've ever seen made have been for schools that don't have a qualified kicker and/or punter. In those cases, they were allowed to select any unattached (to another school in the league) replacement.

I most strongly agree with kilgore that our opponents should not be allowed to draft players from schools selected. We must assume that they were aware of their deficiencies prior to committing. And again, it would detract from the very core of this theme.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. All fair points made. I did consider the kicker and punter to be exclusive, but explaining it and monitoring it was not worth it in my opinion. The draw for this is not the better kicker at one school vs another. Having 21 of 23 roster positions from a school is enough, but we will settle with the exclusive kicker/punter from any school not selected by another owner.

The hope is to get more people joining. Thus, being less restrictive on the kicker and punter can help that effort. And also lends itself to more ways to strategically build your team. Lets see some new teams! And please post here or sitemail me any kicker or punter changes, so we can keep the K and P exclusivity intact.

I'll look into putting together an Arkansas team. Hopefully, any of us putting in 2 teams can have them placed in separate conferences while still maintaining geographic fits in each of the divisions.

Yes, we will split the 2 team owners with 1 in each conference. And, we'll do our best for the geo-fit divisions.

For my 2nd team, I will take Illinois.

We have 15 teams now! For those that have reserved a team, but not yet entered the league, please get your team entered when you can. If you have questions on the roster search or build using pro-football-reference.com, please post here or sitemail me. 9 spots left!

8 spots left. On page 5 of this forum, there is a list of available schools with some notable players. If you are stopping by for the first time, please don't hesitate to post any questions. Myself or any of the committed owners are happy to assist on searching for your players.

We use pro-football-reference.com to locate your alumni. Then, you compare with the whatif listings for the salary and ratings for each player and OL, DEF and ST. We encourage you to use the kicker or punter from your school, but should you have little or no options, you may select a K or P from another school that is vacant and not selected by another owner. Football is back! Join us.

Just a question for everyone...shouldn't defenses, offensive lines and special teams include school affiliated players who were starters for those teams in that given season?

Good question. I do like teams with icon identity players that are like true captains for that unit. Problem is making the money work while trying to field the most competitive roster. I badly wanted Simeon Rice or Dick Butkus on my Illinois team. But couldn't make it work. So, Scott Studwell was the fallback. Had to trim my Kicker and Punter salaries big time to pay for the Vikings Def.

My fear is that it would make it too restrictive and tedious for the team build with a stater rule; And what metric makes them a starter or not? A minimum amount of starts or snaps? A valuable nickel back would be ineligible- Like Rod Woodson or Deion at the end of their pro career. Or, a jumbo package Left Tackle that plays part time. Same for a 4th LB that gets pulled vs passing teams. We all have to make it work with the same cap. As it is now, we make it more inclusive for the smaller or lesser known football first schools.

On that note, I did a deeper dive on some of those schools. There are some nice gems out there that could fill out a roster and contend with a nice supporting OL and/or DEF. I will add these 11 to the available list on page 5--

Maryland, Louisville, TCU, Utah, Indiana, West Virginia, San Jose St, Southern Miss, Tulane, Marshall, Rice.
