Did you even watch the game? Which goal was his fault? Maybe the 2nd one, but that's it. Those other 4 fell squarely on the team giving him no chance in front of him.

I am sticking to my original thoughts about this series.........

Canuck's finally get to play a team with a "Worse starting goalie than they have"

Chicago may win the series, but only if our goalie is worse......Don Cherry predicts Luongo will stay good, if Cherry is correct this thing is over in five...

Monday's game is HUGE for Chicago.......If the Canuck's win??? WOW!!! A short series is PROBABLE!!! Chicago wins.....We have a series!!!

WOW!!!

Is that comment for real? Could Niemi give up worse rebounds than he did...all game long????

I think Niemi will start game 2, but it definitely would not shock me if Q went with Huet next game. Niemi was very shaky at best. He definitely showed his nerves and experience. If that is considered good goaltending for Niemi I'd like to change my prediction of Canucks in 6 to a more realistic 4 or 5. Now of course Niemi can't possibly play as bad in game 2, could he?

Okay, okay, I admit it. I said the Hawks would win 2 games in this series. I'm an idiot. Sold the canucks short.

Niemi played just fine. I can't fault him for 4 or those goals. I'd prefer to fault the 18 guys in front of him who.decided to stop skating in the 2nd.

I hope the players are just as overconfident as some of the Canucks fans.

Game 2 is not the biggest game for Chicago. I keep telling you guys but you won't listen. it takes 4 games to win a series, and until Chicago loses the last game they play, they have as much chance as any team.

And as for Niemi being shaky, he made a ton of huge saves to try and keep his team in it, including a sprawling one on Daniel, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. The only bad rebound goal was the Raymond goal. Other than that, it was most definitely not his fault.

That being said, if 'm coach Q I am loving the fact that people already think this series is over because that is just the motivation this team needs.

If the stats mean anything....

5 goals on 25 shots??? For a save percentage of .800??? If it was not Niemi's fault and you Hawk fans thought Niemi was good then I can hardly wait to see Niemi have a BAD GAME.

Numbers don't tell the whole story. Try as you like, but Niemi didn't play poorly. Trust me...Huet played poorly all year, so we know what it looks like.

Lets all hope Niemi has another "good" game LOL

Also the speed advantage the Canucks have is so evident.keep Grabner and Rypien in the lineup..Hawks to me are having trouble with the speed of VCR.put Eager and Burish in will soften the Canucks D somewhat but they will still be trying to find an answer for the speed VCR can throw out there
5/2/2010 5:48 PM
randle, that is a funny comment as last year people were saying we couldn't handle the speed of the Hawks...bringing in Erhoff and allowing the slow-footed Ohlund to fly to Tampa has made a huge difference. Not to mention more prominent roles for Raymond and Hansen. Speed kills.

andru...I wasn't being over-confident...merely stating that if Niemi continues to play that "good" this will be a short series. I didn't mean to place the blame for your game one loss soley on your goaltender. Your team as a whole was bad. I expect Niemi will play a little better, but if he doesn't it won't matter how the rest of your team plays.
