And the icing on the cake was him talking about how "He never leaked anything". It was only a few days after he was gone the truth came out that he leaked the "Steele Dossier" to the media. And that lead to the Dossier that was paid for by the Clinton foundation to be used to get the FISA warrants. And all this FISA abuse is about to come out into the open. The whole Russia investigation was based off of an unverified paid for by the Clinton foundation document. They never worried about it coming back to them because they never though Trump would win.

What Did Betsy Ross Ever Do to Anyone?

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, when we began the week in our own little, small way here pushing back against Nike and Colin Kaepernick and their attacks on Betsy Ross. What did Betsy Ross ever do to anybody? Stop and think about this at the root level. Nike introduces a new pair of sneakers for the Fourth of July and they’ve got the Betsy Ross flag on them in the heel.

Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49er quarterback, decides he doesn’t like them, tells Nike he doesn’t like them. Nike says that’s really cool. Okay, we’ll not sell the shoes. And they shelve ’em, don’t sell ’em. The news erupts: Kaepernick doesn’t like shoes, Nike cancels shoes. People immediately began to suspect it was nothing more than a PR stunt.

But whether it was a stunt or not, it contained an attack on the American flag, that an American corporation rewarded an attack on the woman, the woman who designed the first American flag, that made it, Betsy Ross. What did she ever do to anybody? Why in the world is Betsy Ross under assault, much less the American flag that she designed? And yet, it’s exactly what happened.

So we decided at the RushLimbaugh.com store to answer back and to push back. And we created the Stand Up for Betsy Ross T-shirt with our unique, one-of-a-kind T-shirt fabric and a great design. Now, when we started this on Monday, within a half hour to an hour we became aware that there were 15 different knockoffs. In other words, other outfits were creating copycat designs of that shirt and putting them for sale on their websites, trying to make unaware buyers think that they were official RushLimbaugh.com T-shirts. They’re not.

You know how many knockoffs are up there now? Try 70, 70 knockoff shirts. Seventy different fraudulent outfits are trying to sell T-shirts with our design and make it look like they are ours being sold on their site. And I want to remind you again, we’re not selling the official and legitimate Stand Up for Betsy Ross T-shirt anywhere but RushLimbaugh.com.

If you buy one anywhere else, it’s not official, it’s not gonna be with our great, unique T-shirt fabric, material, whatever you want to call it. It’s not gonna be our exact design unless they take a picture of it and try to copy it with as much detail in their graphics as they can, but the point is, they’re all rip-offs.

Now, we’re tracking ’em down. This is how we know that there are this many of them. The 70, by the way, are not all active. I don’t want to get into great detail about this, but there are now a total of 70. But not a single one of those knockoffs has any kind of a charitable tie-in like we do.

We are sending a portion of the proceeds to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This is a great organization that helps the people, families of those lost on 9/11. They extend aid to our military and first responders. They are a great outfit that we’ve partnered with on this. In other words, this is not just the pursuit of profit at the RushLimbaugh.com store.

The bottom line is, we had to take another delivery, a totally chock-full UPS truck showed up at our loading dock today to unload yet another batch of these shirts because they are going like hotcakes. And it’s because people want to push back. What did Betsy Ross ever do to anybody? What’s this flag ever really done to anybody? What in the world?

It’s like, if I could give you an example – and I just did in the previous hour of the program — the census has always had a question about citizenship on it and the Obama administration came along and removed it. And crickets. The Republicans didn’t say anything, didn’t object to it. They just allowed it to happen. The real question, then, is why did it get taken off the census? That’s the real question. That’s the real controversy. Why was it removed? Not that Trump wants to put it back.

But, of course, the Democrat Party, the Drive-By Media, the controversy is that Trump wants to put that question back. And so now Obama judges all over the country are waiting for the case to get to their court so they can tamp it down. Trump’s administration is looking for ways via executive action and executive order to get the question of citizenship back on the census. I think they’ll succeed.

But when the Obama administration removes it, there wasn’t any pushback. Here comes Nike making a new set of tennis shoes, the Betsy Ross flag, Colin says, “I don’t like that. That’s offensive to me.” And so Nike cancels it. And there wasn’t any pushback.

So we decided to push back. I, for one, have grown weary of the no pushback. They do whatever they do, particularly the things they do that attack this nation, this nation’s history, this nation’s traditions, and this nation’s heroes. Betsy Ross.

Betsy Ross never did anything to anybody. She’s a heroine, an early American woman. A woman who was fundamentally involved in the creation of our national symbol. There’s no reason this woman should come under assault. There’s no reason that she or her design have been sullied the way Kaepernick and Nike have gotten away with doing so.

This is our pushback. And, apparently, many of you have wanted to join it. Word of this reached Steve Doocy at Fox & Friends. So I have agreed to appear tomorrow morning on Fox & Friends just to briefly recount this story and talk about what all is going on here tomorrow morning.

Was it 8:30 a.m. that we are scheduled? That’s always subject to change based on breaking news and other things. But right now I am scheduled to appear at 8:30 a.m. ET tomorrow morning with Doocy and the gang at Fox & Friends to talk about this.

RUSH: I understand the gambit here, Carl. Let me translate this, folks. What Carl is saying — Carl is like many of us. Carl is frustrated that facts alone do not persuade idiots. And that is very frustrating. We all know when we’re talking to fools. Many of us can’t avoid it. Ahem. And try as hard as you can to convince them with facts that what they think is wrong oftentimes it’s like talking to a blackboard, it’s like talking to nothing.

So Carl’s saying, rather than pointing a finger in their face, rather than wagging that finger and just telling the facts, just put it in language they understand, start ripping Trump, for the good stuff that’s happening. You see what that damn Trump did with the unemployment numbers? Stupid Trump. We’ve got more people working than ever before, and it’s his fault!

The idea, ram it down their throats with sarcasm and maybe a little humor. Problem is here, Carl, we’re talking about idiots. One thing I’ve found is that idiots do not have a sense of humor, especially when they are the butt of the joke. But I tell you, if it makes you feel better, try it. It is an effective way of persuasion used against the right people. It’s been one of the hallmarks of this program since its inception. Great call, Carl. Thank you.

Obama Removed the Citizenship Question from the Census – and the GOP Was Silent

RUSH: It’s like this censorship question. The real controversy is who the hell removed it? Well, we have the answer to that. Barack Hussein Obama.

Let me ask you, do you remember when that happened? Well, no. Not only was it not covered — don’t — now, wait a minute, Snerdley. Don’t lay this on the media. So Obama comes along and takes the citizenship question off the census. What do the Republicans do? (snoring) Okay. Wake us up when something really matters. (snoring) They want to take censorship question off? Fine.

Paul Ryan knows everything about how to run Washington, lets the Democrats take the censorship question off. They don’t even object to it. Here comes Donald Trump. “Why is this question not on there? The question’s always been on there. We need to know who’s a citizen.” And what happens? The Democrats raise holy hell.

The point is, we let them get away with everything they do. The Republicans didn’t even object when Obama removed the question. The Democrats, whether they succeed or not, fight for every damn thing, even if it is just a morsel in their agenda, they fight for every damn thing.

When the Democrats come along and want to literally erase defining items of our culture, of our society, of our civilization, they’re met with crickets. They have no opposition. You want to remove the citizenship question? Fine. (snoring) Go ahead. But when we come back — not when we — but when Trump says, “Wait a minute, we’re gonna put that back on there,” what do the Democrats do? “No, you’re not. You can’t do that.”

They start raising holy hell, start calling Trump names, “You white racist pig. You white separatist. You white supremacist. We’re not gonna let you do this.” Where are the Republicans? (snoring) Wake us up when something really matters.

That’s the difference, folks. Trump still way too often, is it not the case, appears to be all by himself on the battlefield, at least when it comes to other members of his party. Not all. Not all. But certainly not en masse.

White House Holds Summit on Social Media Bias

RUSH: Here’s what they are doing at the White House. This is the week, by the way, that the media and tech titans of the world get together out in Ketchum, Idaho, Sun Valley at a conference put on by Herbie Allen, Allen & Company. They are an MNA, mergers and acquisitions — they do deals in New York among media people.

So you’ve got the CEOs and the tech wizards from Apple, Amazon, Google, Twitter, Facebook, you name it, they’re all out there. Disney, CBS, ABC, NBC, the entertainment divisions, they’re all out there doing their weekly confab, and certain deals happen during this week. The capital cities, ABC Cap Cities was merged and taken over by Disney in a deal put together at this confab.

And the primary thing on the agenda out there, aside from software, artificial intelligence, is content delivery, streaming versus cable versus satellite versus over the air. And streaming services are popping up like dandelions in your backyard. The most recent one was announced yesterday by AT&T.

You know, AT&T now owns HBO. They own CNN. They basically took over Time Warner. They announced a streaming service called HBO Max that will debut in the spring of 2020. Apple has a streaming service. YouTube TV. PlayStation Vue is Sony. AT&T already has one out there called DirecTV Now. And then there’s Netflix.

Now, do you know what the most watched program on Netflix is? The Office. I don’t know if I should tell people I have yet to see an episode of that show. Think it’d be a mistake to admit that? Well, I mean, in an ongoing basis, okay, like Stranger Things season three, Netflix is claiming that a full 33% of their worldwide subscribers have already watched all eight episodes or how many there are of Stranger Things, season three.

I tried it. I tried Stranger Things season one. And I just couldn’t get through it. There’s not enough of the monster in it. I don’t know what the purpose. Probably it matters that I don’t have kids running around and so none of that — I guess it’s a show about kids coming of age, you know, making out. Been there, done that. So I can’t get into it. But it’s apparently overwhelmingly popular. But aside from the one-offs like this, the ongoing number one show is The Office followed by Friends.

Well, guess what? Netflix is gonna lose both of those in 2020 because the people that own those two shows — that’s NBCUniversal — are gonna start their own streaming service. So whereas the Millennials hated cable — to me, this is funny, but it’s serious at the same time. The Millennials, my tech buddies, they hate cable because you have to pay for it. They just hate anything you have to pay for, particularly if you have to pay for a bunch of channels you’ll never watch to get the channels that you want.

So when streaming started, they celebrated, it was a great day, cable companies were gonna take it on the chin, satellite companies are gonna take it on the chin. Now streaming, if you want to be able to access everything that you used to be able to get with a cable subscription is gonna cost you 10 times what it costs you to have a cable subscription because all of these streaming services are gonna have exclusive content. Like Friends and The Office will only be on one streaming service. So if you love it, you’re gonna have to have that.

But then if you like HBO, you might have to subscribe to another service if your service to give you Friends and The Office doesn’t provide HBO. Now, HBO is everywhere right now, but since AT&T owns them they might restrict HBO to use it as a loss leader to sell subscribers on their streaming service. It’s getting bifurcated.

So that’s what these clowns in Sun Valley are all talking about today, is how to stay in business. ‘Cause there’s only so many subscribers that you can get. There’s only so many subscriptions you can sell. And it’s getting split up and becoming impossible. It will not be possible – like it used to with cable, you could subscribe to a cable service and get everything you wanted. That isn’t gonna happen with streaming.

Now the tech blog buddies of mine are just beside themselves. They think that they have been the subject of a giant screw job. They think they were manipulated into hating cable to promote streaming, and now that streaming has taken off, it’s gonna cost them much more unless they can find ways to steal it. So these titans of industry are out in Sun Valley talking about it while what’s going on at the White House?

Well, the White House is having their own social media summit today. And guess who isn’t there? All the people in Sun Valley. Twitter is not there. Facebook is not there, MySpace, whatever they are, they’re not there!

“The White House has invited well-known conservative social media figures … to meet with President Trump on Thursday for what’s being billed as a ‘social media summit’ to discuss anti-conservative bias by big tech companies and other issues.” And Trump tweeted all about it this morning. He said, “Will be a big and exciting day at the White House for Social Media!”

It’s taking “place in the East Room of the White House, is expected to cover accusations that companies like Facebook, Google and Twitter treat conservatives unfairly.” It’s not an accusation, it’s true. There’s no “if” about it.

“A big subject today at the White House Social Media Summit will be the tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination and suppression practiced by certain companies,” Trump tweeted. “We will not let them get away with it much longer.” Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, “says tech companies are engaging in oppression of conservative ideas.”

And so while the titans are out in Sun Valley discussing where to go, what to do next, how to merge, how to join forces, the White House has got a summit going on how to beat them, or at least get them to shape up.

This is a great example. This kind of stuff never used to happen. This is Trump pushback extraordinare. This is Trump fighting back. And it wouldn’t be happening were it not for Trump. He’s gonna use executive orders to get the citizenship question back on the census, for example.

Rush 24/7 Morning Update: Calling Nancy Out

RUSH: Wednesday meeting morning, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took members of her Democrat caucus to the woodshed. IN a closed door meeting, scolded them for going public with their complaints. She told the members if they had complaints, they should come and talk to her about them. And they should not air their grievances with other party members on social media platforms.

It didn’t take long to see the results of that discipline lesson.

By Wednesday afternoon, the Democrat firecracker, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, found her way back into the headlines. She went public with even more complaints about Democrats.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said the Democrats have become the party of “hemming and hawing.” Trying to be all things to all people. She accused them of being cowards; she said they shouldn’t be afraid to have a clear message.

And she gave the old codgers in her party, like Nancy Pelosi, some advice. She said. even though Republicans will call their bold agendas “socialism,” they shouldn’t run away from those policies.

Later she accused Pelosi of being a racist. Picking on congresswomen who are of color.

Hey, Nancy. Madame Speaker, if you prefer. This little freshman squirt from New York is calling you out. What are you going to do about this? Your daughter said that you could cut her head off, before she even knew she was bleeding! Are we gonna see some blood from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

RUSH: “Christine Blasey Ford scrubbed social media profile before sending letter detailing alleged sexual assault.” As we all knew, there was nothing genuine or real about anything involving Christine Blasey Ford. The whole thing was a manufactured setup that was executed after immense detailed planning and coordination with the Democrat Party. And the truth has been revealed.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: So let’s go to from there to America’s number one victim of men, Christine Blasey Ford. The universe the left asks us to occupy with them, on the same day, on one hand we have all of these great female champions who are willing to throw that aside and become political victims, enraged and angry over the unfairness of it all, demanding this and demanding that and hoping to be the reason to get rid of Donald Trump

To Christine Blasey Ford, a 54-year-old woman who sounded like she was 12, describing an event that had happened 30 years ago as though it had happened that morning and she was still scared to death and in shock over it. (imitating Ford) “I’m terrified to be here, you know, what happened to me shouldn’t happen to anyone, you know.” That was Christine Blasey Ford.

Story here from the Washington Examiner, headline: “Christine Blasey Ford Scrubbed Social Media Profile Before Sending Letter Detailing Alleged Sexual Assault,” by Kavanaugh. Now, you go back to last summer when this happened — and let’s be honest, folks — you and I, most of you, we all knew that this was a totally contrived event.

It was manufactured to be executed at the last minute if it appeared they weren’t able to stop Kavanaugh any other way. If it looked like Kavanaugh was gonna sail through and get confirmed, they’re gonna launch this. It was a rehearsed campaign. It was strategized, and it was orchestrated and planned.

There were people involved, Dianne Feinstein’s office and Dr. Blasey Ford’s congressional representative and some people she had known from her past, and they concocted this event. They created this alleged sexual assault that he had committed against her and then Avenatti got in on it and blew the whole thing sky-high by claiming that a client of his had been forced to run rape trains for Kavanaugh.

The whole thing fell apart because, as always, they overreach. But they made it all up. As we suspected, this thing was a contrived event that was planned to the minute and orchestrated with leaders of the Democrats on that Judiciary Committee, and I have no doubt that certain elements of the media were party to the planning and execution of this hit piece on Kavanaugh. The details here come in a new book, Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court.

It’s written by Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino. Mollie Hemingway is a great writer, terrific author. She’s at The Federalist. And this book has immediately become number one on the New York Times list, Amazon and some others.

“Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, deleted her social media profile weeks before she sent a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein detailing the allegation, according to a new book.”

According to the book, Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court, set for release Tuesday — it’s out — the book details how Blasey Ford “was portrayed as politically moderate,” minding her own business out there on the Left Coast teaching women how to be victims with the best of them. Teaching them how to be angry, how to be victims, minding her own business and one day she sees this guy who nearly abused her on TV and she lost it.

And she wrote a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, she could barely finish the letter, it was so traumatic, this guy is horrible. Except there were no witnesses, she couldn’t describe exactly where it had happened, she couldn’t describe how she got home after it happened, there were no witnesses that saw it.

In fact, some people who were there say it didn’t happen, but it didn’t stop anybody. It “details how Ford was portrayed as politically moderate. But her acquaintances reported Ford’s profile on social media ‘had been notable for its extreme antipathy to President Trump.’”

She’s another Trump hater. Christine Blasey Ford hated Trump, but they scrubbed all of that from her social media before she sent the letter so that any media, “Who is this babe?” would find out that she’s just an average American woman traumatized because she was forced to interact with a man who is now being nominated to the Supreme Court.

They constructed a totally bogus history and set of circumstances. They constructed a totally bogus identity of a woman as somebody who was apolitical who really only cared about was coming forward as a duty to her country to keep a sexual abuser off of the Supreme Court. And she was risking everything: humiliation, her privacy.

And of course none of that was true. She was gonna be made wealthy by this book after book after book after interview after TV appearance. She was gonna be nationally famous, a left-wing heroine. There was nothing about this that was gonna cause her angst and harm. It was just the exact opposite.

“Additionally, her political views ‘ran decidedly to the left and were at variance with most of her family’s,’ and Ford’s friends on Facebook said she ‘regularly expressed hostility’ toward the Trump administration, they said.

“Ford’s profile, however, was ‘completely scrubbed’ about the time Kavanaugh was tapped for the Supreme Court in early July 2018. Ford informed Feinstein, the California Democrat, of her alleged encounter with Kavanaugh during a small gathering at a suburban Maryland home more than 30 years ago in a letter dated July 30, 2018.”

As I say, they waited to spring this at the last minute. It was a last-ditch effort to keep Kavanaugh off the court. It was only gonna be used if they thought he was gonna sail through and it got to the point where he was gonna sail through, so they let this thing fly.

“In addition to wiping her social media profile, Hemingway reported that while Ford previously went by her maiden name, the media referred to her by her married name and her formal title, ‘Dr.’ ‘Some suggested that she was following sophisticated public relations advice to emphasize her relationship with her husband.”

In other words, they faked who she is! They amplified and created an image of great educational merit, sophistication, and refinement. She was a doctor. And of course doctors, scientists, and so forth don’t lie. And it’s incumbent that we believe the woman.

“In her letter to Feinstein, Ford requested the accusation remain confidential.” Which is another line of BS. There was no way this was ever meant to remain confidential. “But as word of the claims began to spread in the press, she later decided to speak publicly about the alleged encounter with the Washington Post for an article published Sept. 16.”

Yeah, they sent the letter to Dianne Feinstein, told Dianne Feinstein, “don’t tell anybody.” That’s like me telling, hey, don’t tell anybody. It’s the exact opposite. Please tell everybody you know what I’m gonna tell you. That was the whole intent of this.

“After Ford came forward, the team working on Kavanaugh’s confirmation maintained a policy of not attacking her, Severino and Hemingway wrote, ‘even though damaging information about Ford was being openly discussed by people who knew her, some who knew her quite well.’

“’Classmates were surprised by the media’s portrayal of her as an ingenue, which was very different from how they remembered her in junior high and high school,’ according to the book. ‘Female classmates and friends at area schools recalled a heavy drinker who was much more aggressive with boys than they were.’”

And yet they portrayed Dr. Ford as basically a waif, a highly educated, almost asexual brilliant female working in her specialty, teaching other young women the ways of the world. She was mouse-like, invisible, very seldom made waves, so invisible that hardly anybody remembered much about her.

That’s the story they tried to create, but her friends, “This babe was all over the place. You tap a keg and she got first dibs on the thing. And she was running around chasing the guys like you wouldn’t believe.” But all of that was erased, all of that was eliminated and a phony picture was created, made to look like all of it was spontaneous.
