Also, you don't have to convince me on climate change. I am one of the few conservatives that believe it is real. I just don't think it is wise to throw our economy into turmoil to correct it. I believe that there are solutions to slow the process that don't lead to unnecessary financial burden. Every solution that comes from the left in Washington adds costs to producers and consumers.
I agree that there can be solutions but there cannot be until the government shows some initiative on the subject. Obama took a first step, trump is pulling us back 5. We need to show initiative and ignore big energy companies, and listen to scientists and solutions will come. We showed initiative on space travel and look how that turned out. If humans really make an effort to do something we can. But we need a Kennedy of the modern era to jump-start it.
Good solutions do not exist now. But the Koch brothers prevent us from finding some.
THANK GOD you believe in climate change. I am very passionate on the subject and I would consider myself knowledgeable.
GM just announced they will have 20 different electric cars by 2023. Big business can do it without government intervention.
Everybody believes in climate change... We just don't all believe man impacts that change in a major way.
We need government intervention to solve the problem. And whether it is man made or not is irrelevant. We should still do something to stop it.
Lol. The government doesn't solve problems, they only make them bigger!!
How else are we going to solve this then.
I'm not sure what exactly needs to be solved? climate has always changed as far as we know, correct? So you want to stop it from changing?
Go back to the basics... teach people, educate them in school. Conservation is good should be the message... Not hand picking EVILS like coal is bad, oil is bad, etc.
Climate has always changed..... over a long period of time. The effects of this are too rapid and too obvious. In 20 years florida could be underwater.
This is what they said 20 years ago.
Exactly. It's another end of the world, doomsday scenario at this point... just like Y2K, the Mayan calendar, etc. We only have maybe 50-100 years of semi-reliable climate data. That's hardly a legit sample size considering how old the planet is. Current day 'models' still can't accurately predict things like the path of a hurricane... Yet many treat these models as scientific fact.
Except this one is, you know, backed up by 99% of scientists, unlike Y2K or Mayan calendar.
When they can tell me with certainty how the dinosaurs perished.... I'll be impressed with your 99% of scientists. Until then they're guessing with a planet that's much older than the dinosaurs, supposedly.
I don't understand your comparison here.
They have no substantial data to compare modern day 'global warming' to anything in the past.... The ice age, the Extinction of dinosaurs, etc. They are all guessing. So far every model they have has been wrong.
We have a comparison to venus. Measuring effects there shows what could happen to earth. And water levels ARE rising... We can see this.
How long have we been measuring results and accumulating data on Venus and how old is that planet? Also, haven't water levels always been rising?
