and washington just lost their first game of the season to atlanta!  i rest my case.  :>

well, yes we were shutout by a team that finished last overall last year, but a couple of points to make on that:

1)  it was only one game.  new jersey devils beat the oilers 7-2 back when they were the worst team in the league and the oil was the best team in history.
2)  edmonton does have a great goaltender.
3)  eberle is a great player.  hall is supposed to be as well.  edmonton isn't the same team that finished last overall last year.

but of course i'm not saying the flames are gonna turn around and win sixty games.  i'm just saying look at last year.  we totally schooled the canucks to start the season in back to back wins.  and then lost nine in a row later in the season.  we need to wait fifteen to twenty games into the season before we decide who has a good team and who doesn't.  chicago lost their opener as well.  almost lost in regulation, but ended up losing in OT.  Toronto even won their opening game.  does that mean anything?  :>

I completely AGREE with this post.....It's an 82 game schedule boys and girls.....

I always look at the baseball comparison...........No matter what you do as a baseball manager "Your Team will win 50 games"

No matter what you do as a baseball manager "Your team will LOSE 50 games"

BUT It's what you do as a baseball manager with your  teams remaining 50 games that determines your teams success???  Go 50-0 then you make the playoffs??  Go 25-25, you finish .500........Go 0-50 you get fired??

Yeah, when make the playoffs 90% of the time, which is the Canucks unfortunate history, you can't get the star prospects like Pittsburgh and Chicago (when Pittsburgh or Chicago suck, nobody notices or cares)  and Edmonton and Calgary (See next year's draft, I mean shutout and punched out by a junior team).  

This is exactly the reason the Oilers will make the Canuckleheads look silly a couple of times this year too.

Sorry guys, the Flames looked old. Iggy can't carry the team like he used to. Too bad because he's a great player and leader. It was only the 1st game though.

the flames are old.  and yes, iggy can't carry us the way he used to, and we got nobody to share the burden with.  one first line guy and then a bunch of second and third line players.  :{

 Im actually betting on the old and slow Flames tonite,think they can beat a tired L..A  team tonite? not with my betting luck,another  loss will come my way..just like the NFL pick the 49er's week after week and they shoot themselves in the foot ,but tonite they'll probably kill the Eagles..the laws of causation..i know

Well 1 and a half into the new season... Flames are still with out a goal.  SAD    MAYBE they can't beat a tired LA team??

 Im hoping team old and slow can hold off the Kings. Canucks couldnt..  1-0 lead should be money..i need a win ,taking a beating on NFL picks today...cmon old and slow you can do it!

Brodie and Staios were absolutely horrendous... Sarich should be in on Saturday and one of those two will be in the box, hopefully is the 2.7 m sled

I wonder how long it will take to figure out Iginla and Jokinen dont work together, again... thankfully they got split up in the third and then we had some pressure

well, we're done, stick a fork in us.  getting shutout by florida.  can't do any worse than that.  pretty much the epitome of suck!   :{

They already did worse and were shutout by the Oilers

But hey, on the bright side... at least we arent Vancouver fans
