Game 109: Joe Kennedy hits an RBI single in the second inning and, surprisingly, that's the only run the Spectres need today as four Montreal pitchers combine to shut out the Looters 1-0.

Game 110: Kelvim Escobar improves to 14-4 on the season, scattering 10 hits (with no walks) over seven innings of work in a 10-3 win. Geoff Jenkins has four hits and Mark Bellhorn reaches base four times.

Game 111: Montreal fails to close out a sweep of the Looters, dropping the finale 5-4; both teams score four runs in the seventh but the Spectres can't get anything going otherwise. Jake Westbrook fails to match Escobar's 14th victory.

The Spectres head to Milwaukee to face the Gray Bears.

Game 112: Jeremy Bonderman takes a beating and Milwaukee's Carlos Silva shuts down the Spectre bats as the Gray Bears run away with the series opener, 11-1.

Game 113: Jamie Moyer mystifies the Spectres and Milwaukee takes their second straight decision over Montreal, 3-1. Jimmy Gobble pitches well but falls to 8-7. Carl Crawford's sixth inning homer is Montreal's only tally.

Game 114: Brett Tomko gets his 10th win for Milwaukee and the Gray Bear bullpen throws four scoreless innings as the Spectres are swept, Milwaukee taking the series finale 5-2.

Milwaukee will host the Bootleggers next.

Game 115: Ramon Hernandez' two-run homer caps a four-run ninth for Montreal that sends the game to extra innings, but the Bootleggers prevail in the 12th, scoring two times for a 13-11 win.

Game 116: Montreal doesn't have much chance in this one, shut down by Brian Lawrence, as the Bootleggers take a 6-1 victory, breaking things open with three in the ninth.

Game 117: Oliver Perez strikes out 11 Spectres and Montreal drops their sixth straight game, 7-2. Montreal gets two solo home runs but nothing else.

The third round of divisional play begins with a visit from Philadelphia.

Game 118: Mark Bellhorn's bottom-of-the-ninth, two-out, inside-the-park home run wins it for the Spectres, 6-5.

Game 119: Edgardo Alfonzo hits a pinch-hit grand slam in the sixth inning and the McPoyles waste most of their 11 hits as Montreal wins 7-1.

Game 120: Kelvim Escobar tires in the eighth and Philly breaks the game open; Montreal rallies with two in the ninth but falls one run short, losing the finale 6-5.

A trip to Pittsburgh is next on the schedule.

Game 121: Someone named John Mutschler hits a two-run pinch hit homer in the eighth and the Melons hold on for a 4-2 victory over the Spectres.

Game 122: Pittsburgh wins again with another late rally as Eddie Guardado and Trever Miller conspire to choke up a 2-1 lead in the ninth. Rod Barajas triples in the tying run and scores the winner on Bobby Crosby's single.

Game 123: It's Montreal with the late rally in the series finale but they fall short; Geoff Jenkins strikes out with the bases loaded to end the game and Pittsburgh completes a sweep of the Spectres with a 5-4 win.

The Spectres head home to host New York.

Game 124: Carlos Delgado doubles, homers, and drives in five as the Spectres finally get back in the win column with an 8-7 victory over the Mad Men.

Game 125: New York evens the series with a 7-1 win behind Dave Borkowski as Kelvim Escobar falls to 14-6.

Game 126: Montreal completes a dispiriting 3-6 jaunt through the division, dropping a 3-2 decision to New York in 10 innings.

We head to St. Louis looking for a spark.

Game 127: Jeremy Bonderman pitches six innings without allowing an earned run; unfortunately the Cthulu still end up with five runs against him, and the Spectres continue to struggle at the plate, losing the series opener 9-2.

Game 128: Montreal, trailing 3-0 after seven, scores in the eighth on Geoff Jenkins' double and sends the game to extras when Angel Berroa hits a two-run homer in the ninth. Jenkins starts a 3-run rally in the 10th with a two-run double and the Spectres win 6-3.

Game 129: Carl Crawford has three hits, including his 22nd triple, and three RBI as the Spectres rally for a 7-6 win over the Cthulu. Eddie Guardado pitches a scoreless ninth for his 24th save.

Montreal will host Houston next.

Game 130: Montreal gets more late-inning heroics; Khalil Greene greets former Spectre Felix Rodriguez with a grand slam, capping a 5-run eighth that lifts the Spectres to a 6-5 win. Eddie Guardado gets a save for the third consecutive game, his 25th.

Game 131: Houston crushes Jake Westbrook but the Spectres tie the game at seven in the seventh inning on Ken Griffey Jr.'s two-run homer. Salomon Torres and Jim Brower can't maintain that score, however, each giving up a run-scoring hit in the eighth. Montreal strands three runners over the final two innings and drops a 9-7 decision.

Game 132: 17-game loser Kirk Rueter has no problem with the Spectres as Houston takes the rubber match 5-2.

Frisco is coming to town next.. never a good time to be in a slump.

Game 133: Geoff Jenkins' three-run homer gives Montreal an 8-3 lead in the sixth and they hold on for a 9-5 win over the Niners. Jimmy Gobble gets the win, his ninth of the season.

Game 134: Montreal destroys Frisco, collecting 20 hits (nine for extra bases) in a 16-4 rout. Joe Kennedy gets his 12th win of the season.

Game 135: Montreal finishes off the Niners with a 3-2 win, scoring the winner in the ninth on a walk and consecutive hits by Mark Bellhorn and Carl Crawford. Jim Brower is the beneficiary, improving to 4-1.

The Spectres head to Cincinnati to face the Stingers.

Game 136: Montreal scores three in the first inning and then basically shuts it down for the day; Luis Gonzalez leads off the bottom of the ninth with a home run off Jason Frasor (0-4) to give Cincy a 4-3 win in the series opener. Ben Sheets strikes out 10 in a complete game performance for the Stingers.

Game 137: Carl Crawford and Geoff Jenkins have three hits each and the Spectres roll to an 8-2 win over Cincy. Jeremy Bonderman struggles with his control, walking six, but lasts seven innings for the win (8-10).

Game 138: Carl Crawford and Geoff Jenkins have three hits each for the second straight game, but the end result is much less rout-like as the Spectres score only two runs. Jimmy Gobble throws six scoreless innings and the bullpen contributes three more of the same as Montreal wins 2-0. Gobble improves to 10-8.

The Spectres will host San Diego next.

Game 139: Four Spectres collect three hits, Jayson Werth drives in five, Joe Kennedy throws seven scoreless innings, and Montreal routs the Conquistadors 13-0 to open the series.

Game 140: Rich Harden strikes out 12, but Carlos Delgado hits a two-run double in the eighth to give Montreal a 4-3 lead. Eddie Guardado works around two hits in the ninth to pick up his 28th save.

Game 141: Montreal scores four in the first, but the Conquistadors unleash the full fury of their offense on Jake Westbrook and assorted members of the bullpen, avoiding a sweep by taking the series finale, 11-7.

The Spectres head to Los Angeles to face the Looters.

Game 142: Jeremy Bonderman pitches seven scoreless innings, striking out eight and walking none, and the Spectres win their 81st game of the season, beating LA 6-3.

Game 143: Mike Lowell hits two solo homers for the Looters and Montreal doesn't score until the ninth; LA wins 5-1 to even the series.

Game 144: After LA puts its first two batters on in the ninth (single and error), Eddie Guardado strikes out the next three to save a 2-1 victory for the Spectres.

Montreal will host the Milwaukee Gray Bears next (91-53).

Game 145: Mark Bellhorn's three-run homer caps a seven-run 7th, and the Spectres beat the Gray Bears 10-3.

Game 146: Mark Mulder gives up two solo homers but nothing else; Milwaukee's Eric Chavez hits two homers on his own, driving in four runs, and the Gray Bears even the series with a 5-2 win.

Game 147: Montreal takes the series behind Jeremy Bonderman, who evens his record at 10-10 with eight shutout innings; the Spectres shut out the Gray Bears 9-0. Carl Crawford has four hits, including his 24th triple.

The Spectres head to Wrigley to face the Bootleggers.

Game 148: The Spectres have now clinched the NL East title; they celebrate by edging the Bootleggers 7-6 in 11 innings. Melvin Mora's pinch hit homer ties the game in the ninth, and Montreal scores twice in the 10th. Eddie Guardado allows a game-tying home run to Jose Cruz Jr. in the bottom half, however, suffering his seventh blown save. Edgardo Alfonzo hits an RBI double in the 11th and AJ Burnett survives the bottom half, stranding men on second and third.

Game 149: Spectre starting pitcher Joe Kennedy gets only one out while allowing five runs in the first and reliever Jason Frasor later duplicates that feat; the Bootleggers crush Montreal 15-7 to even the series. Geoff Jenkins homers and drives in four, reaching 94 RBI for the season.

Game 150: Mark Bellhorn's three-run shot is one of three Montreal home runs and Kelvim Escobar goes eight innings to win his 15th game as the Spectres triumph 8-2.

We're headed to Philadelphia to face the McPoyles.

Game 151: Geoff Jenkins and Melvin Mora each reach the 99 RBI mark for the season and the Spectres overcome a horrible start by Jake Westbrook to beat Philly 12-7. AJ Burnett gets the win in relief, improving to 6-1.

Game 152: Geoff Jenkins drives in his 100th run of the season and the Spectres score four times in the ninth to take a 6-3 win.

Game 153: Jimmy Gobble throws seven shutout innings and Carl Crawford hits his 25th triple as the Spectres beat Philly 13-6. Montreal hits three home runs, including one by Carlos Delgado, who reaches 98 RBI for the season.

Game 154: Carlos Delgado drives in all three Montreal runs (giving him 101 for the season) and the Spectres edge Philly 3-2 to sweep the series.

We will host Pittsburgh next.
