Harp was on my short-list of personal favorites to pick from late in the draft. I didn't see him play as a Cav/Clipper much, but he was a great piece on the 2nd Bulls 3-peat. I still vividly remember how the starting unit would KILL teams in the 3rd qtr. At halftime the Bulls might be up 8, by the end of the 3rd they'd be up 30.

maybe showing my hand a bit too much, but my favorite team has 11 minutes that could be filled. I still could reconfigure though

Alright now that I have all 12 guys, here’s my crazy plan.

Steph plays 100% of minutes at SG and Gervin backs him up in all 5 leagues. Why? Well Ben Simmons means Curry will have to play SG in 3 leagues anyway, and looking at a USG/eFG/Def backup for Curry is much easier to land at SG than PG - Gervin will keep us rolling for the most part while Steph sits. I lose some passing but my PGs plus Love or Noah or Josh Smith will keep the playmaking going.
All 4 of my PGs (talk about a platoon) can rebound and defend and can make up for the size disadvantage I created by putting Steph at SG.

Simmons/Pat Beverley/Dejounte Murray/Derrick White
Steph Curry/George Gervin
Bo Outlaw/Josh Smith/Joakim Noah
Shawn Kemp/Kevin Love
Joakim Noah/Willis Reed

Although it woulda looked better with Ron Harper in my PG platoon.

So, jazz music
For those of you who may not be aware, so many jazz giants passed away in the last few months, the most recent of whom was Steve Grossman. Steve played with Elvin Jones, Miles Davis in his electric period, and more. He was one of those very special musicians who absorbed the tradition, but also took it to the stratosphere, and he was just as talented with a ballad as he was with the spiritual side of jazz. I'd encourage you all to check him out. I was super fortunate to get to hear him live at The Kitano in NYC in 2014 (he was living in Europe for the last couple of years) and I'm glad I did.

PG: Barry/Barry/McConnell
SG: Jordan/Melo/Russell/Hayward
SF: Marion/Millsap/Hayward
PF: Gasol/Marion/Millsap
C: Unseld/O'Quinn/Gasol

Weaknesses: little light on D at times, little light on boards at times, little light on threes at times, little light on assists at times, little light on post scoring, more "pretty good" minutes than "great" minutes

Strengths: Pretty low turnovers and fouls, pretty good efg%, hardly any minutes worse than "pretty good"

Sounds like my patented recipe for five teams that win 38-48 games but don't make much noise in the playoffs.
8/19/2020 4:22 PM
PG: Lillard/McConnell
SG: Dumars/Cooper
SF: Draymond/James Johnson/ Richaun
PF: Hassan/Jonas/J Allen/Dedmon
C: Shaq/Highest usage from the above 4

I am worried about boards, really weak in the guard position. There is one team I really just dont like. Really efficient in the paint, but could be times where paint has weak defense. 3 of these teams will be playoff teams, hopefully 2 contenders. Then again I thought I had 3 playoff teams last year and one of my teams that I didnt project for playoffs, made it in.

My defense is much worse this edition (about 7 points on average). My shooting is slightly better. My assists for the starting lineup are better but worse on the bench. My creb% averages 6 points better across the team. Turnovers and fouls are worse. About 1.5 points more usage per team. Should get about 100 more 3PM per team.

Still might juggle the lineups to stuff a little more into it. But work is getting real busy so might now have time to engineer it too much.

Overall: meh.

Last time I felt decently good about my team... up until the moment I started seeing some of the other squads. I knew then, but kind of kept myself in denial till after the first 10 games despite my lack of confidence having been out of the competitive scene for several years... But around ten games in, I knew that my jig was up.

I may be let down, buuuuuut I feel confident that I'm not finishing 15th this time. I love my team as much as Rob meh's his.

One idea for a team. This doesn’t use my best Curry either.

Please stop posting teams dbkc. It makes me sad.

:( sorry

If it makes you feel better, I’m sure Josh Smith will blow a few leads for me

DH, I know it had no bearing on tonight's game, but who do you trade Simmons or Embiid?

neither

i dont believe theres a realistic trade out there worth giving up either of them...who is this mythical good young 3pt shooting, shot creating guard that another team is willing to give up?

those are good young team controlled two way players who have superstar potential...if they ever get the right players/executives/coaches around them they could deliver a title
8/19/2020 10:33 PM
Somebody suggested Simmons for D'Angelo back in February. I usually don't listen to ESPN recommendations, but......honestly, I liked that one
