John Lennon is not a bad answer, although to mention him and not The Beatles seems off to me. His solo career was fine but not spectacular, and within The Beatles I don't think you can say he was responsible for more than 50% of what they accomplished.

i think his first 2 solo albums were spectacular and beatles standard and his songs on the yoko fantasy album were also great..but. while solo 3 thru 5 had definite beatles greatness throughout each of them they were mixed with filler so not up to a beatles standard.....i wish bruce springstein would employ a wicked chuck berry riff once in a while.

I deduct a lot of points from Lennon's solo career for allowing so much involvement from Yoko.

she was in album 3 and double fantasy...i ignore the milk and honey album........i try to only look at his songs for album quality...the new york album actually has a few songs by yoko that are edgy good....but i agree...she should not have had songs on an album.
im working on my first beatles album from solo albums...1970........it might be the black album......ill send you a cd when i have it finished...it will be a double album like the white album......i hope my selections and order of songs is good..im giving it a lot of thought...it will be a real beatles album.

the 1972 lennon new york album gets ripped but there freally are some lennon songs that are great and i will be able to make a surprisingly great beatles album from the 1972 albums ( 2 ) and singles.

Brian Setzer would be a good guitarist for Elvis...ballads, rockabilly...The Stray Cats would be mighty fine accompanying Elvis...

What a shame Roy Orbison passed away, The Wilburys were really onto something good...

i agree about the wilburys...who replaced roy..i forgot...if elvis had been alive it would have been elvis instead of roy.

Nobody replaced Orbison. The 4 remain members cut a 2nd album, intentionally misnumbered as volume 3.
