If I ran a team and had anything less than an all-star duo on the left side of the IF, I’d gladly give Machado 10/350. And he’ll probably end up signing for less than that.

Useless fuckstick Eric Hosmer got 8/155.

I haven't ran any actual numbers, but I'm not sure any player is worth $35M/year. Saying that, I think he's worth more than Harper simply because he can play SS adequately if needed.

I for sure would not give Hosmer 8/155. He's a 1B with a career OPS of like .770 or something like that.

I agree. Way too much for one guy.

Don’t you have a Progessive league to quit?

I don't know what Machado's asking price is, but $400M is quite steep for an .850 OPS guy.
You could have stopped at $400M is quite steep... Quoting his OPS is overkill.

I keep starting to make a comment on the abortion issue, and then I remember I said I wouldn't. It serves no purpose. People believe what they believe. especially on this subject. Nothing anyone says is going to change anyone else's mind. I can see and understand both sides of the debate. That is all I will say about that.

Let's debate where Bryce Harper should sign, and why whatever he signs for will be more than he deserves.
Teams should be falling all over themselves for Harper and Machado. That they aren’t signed less than a week before pitchers and catchers report is insane.
Yup.

well...with Machado.

Harper is a bit overrated. But your point still stands.

Dino/CCCP, you guys chill out. That's enough.

Topic of day (as suggested by CCCP): Healthcare reform

Most Americans are in agreement that our healthcare system in America is broken at best. When 1 aspirin pill costs you $30, something is wrong. When private health insurance costs 4 times per month what a normal mortgage costs, something is wrong. Most on both ends of the spectrum think that Obamacare was a poor attempt at fixing it. Some think that it didn't go far enough. Others find it to be an
over intrusive program that solves nothing for a large percentage of the country (the middle class) and has done nothing, but made the situation worse for them. If you were in congress, how would you fix our healthcare system?
2/8/2019 7:41 AM
Healthcare reform is complicated, and I'm no expert. If your policy gets more and better healthcare for more people, especially the lower class, I will support it.
