that would be awesome. or maybe just a 6 man rotation. what salary cap did they run the state farm leagues at?
OLs and I’ve won a couple of higher cap open-style themes with it (47m, 50m). I’ve tried different variations but the most reliable is Stockton x2 (94-95, 87-88 favs), Magic (83-84 best), Lebron (12-13 best but many good options; 18-19 Giannis is KILLER here now), 74-75 Boerwinkle backed up by a 2000 min, 20+ ast center (several fit the bill here).

my 78-4 record setting team was the lineup above with Joakim Noah’s 2kish min season as the primary center backup. Sam Lacey 2400 was the OG. Jokic 2000 min is great too. 66-67 Wilt is who I uses in the higher cap leagues. It wasn’t really fair.

I'm curious how the all-time team (with clones) of Steph, Steph, Lebron, Rodman, DeAndre, Whiteside, Wilt
would do against the state farm team of Stockton, Stockton, Magic, Lebron, Giannis, Wilt
anybody run them head to head before in one of the high cap leagues?

or (without clones) Steph, CP3, Lebron, Rodman, DeAndre, Whiteside, Wilt against
state farm (without clones): Stockton, CP3, Magic, Lebron, Giannis, Wilt

that would be a fun experiment. with or without clones. (prefer without)

I don't think you get it to work capwise... the first team is way higher salary than the state farm team.

cp3 kind of doesn't work in it; the second Stockton bumps you up into the next tier, and the usg/efg combo favors Stockton as well.

But in OLs, I would say the Steph/Lebron/Worm/Worm/Whiteside team is sliiiiiightly stronger than the State Farm, though I haven't gone head to head with it very often. My old cp3/steph/worm/worm/shaq teams also came out ahead sliiiiightly more often than State Farm squads, but they weren't always the strongest.

It'd be a fun theme: Beat the State Farm squad. Half the teams are State Farm, the other half are teams built to beat it.

i'd join a "beat the state farm" league. salary cap would probably be the deciding factor. the SIM charges so much for rebounds, so yes, the high rebounding teams are at a much higher cap. Too bad nobody went with a state farm strategy in this league. might have been interesting. mptrey started with Magic, and then if only Nash or Kidd had fallen a bit in round 2 would have been a good start. could have gotten noah and then boerwinkle in later rounds.

I don’t play a lot of OL but Curry Shaq builds are my favorite.

I haven't played an open league in years. I didn't even know what "State Farm" team meant, lol

DH asked me to randomize 1-24 for the division breakdown that 20ks made. When he gives the cue, I will run the numbers for room 9539. The fact that this post isn’t edited will be your first way to verify that the numbers were random, as I can only run each lotto # once. The second way you can verify it’s random is that I don’t really give a **** about this particular lotto
https://defuse.ca/trustedthirdparty.htm?drawingnum=9539&submit=Check

the numbers 1-24 will correspond as follows:

1. dh555
2. bds9992
3. benhoidal
4. jhsukow
5. ashamael
6. ysw128
7. dbkc
8. pharrop
9. robusk
10. mptrey
11. 24kyprite
12. pexetera
13. jcred5
14. 20ks
15. seapilots
16. tarheel1991
17. gerryred
18. samuelyork93
19. dskantor
20. goetz93
21. kinoa1
22. amerk1180
23. copernicus
24. jpevans31

after that, I’ll do a simple 1-5 randomization in room 9540 to figure out which league corresponds to leagues 1-5 in 20ks’ model.

https://defuse.ca/trustedthirdparty.htm?drawingnum=9540&submit=Check

the numbers/leagues will be assigned as the following:

1: 64651
2: 64654
3: 64655
4: 64656
5: 64657

Let's try this

Round 1 - CP3 - I feared the PG position going into the draft. Once I saw my draft position, I knew CP3 was the pick.

Round 2 - Bill Russell - This was between Zo and Ewing. Made a last minute decision to get Russell and not have to worry about his backup until the last round. The minutes and Boards I thought gave me too much flexibility

Round 3- Patrick Ewing - This was between Ewing and Bobby Jones. I completely misread board and still wonder if Ewing would have made it back to me. Ewing gives me 5 scoring seasons and paired well with Russell.

Round 4- Paul Pierce- Wanted Kyrie, settled for Pierce. Think I rated Pierce's longevity too much. I was able to get some other seasons I liked more later in draft, so he is only starting 3 seasons for me.

Round 5 - Anthony Mason - Chased minutes again. Mason has good SF seasons, 2 that rebound well and 3 that pass well. Was happy with Mason in this spot.

Round 6- Joe Dumars - Felt like Dumars was too much value here. Obviously has 5 seasons that can back up my SG and can slide over to back up my PG if I run into issues. Ultimately I might have to reevaluate some of his seasons to ensure I am not in usage penalty.

Round 7- Kevin Johnson - This was between KJ and Kemba. Took KJ because I wouldn't have to worry about PG the rest of draft. Through the 7th, I realized how many minutes I had drafted and started questioning my whole draft.

Round 8 - Vince Carter - I wanted Javale McGee to back up Ewing, but I was used to kinoa taking the top player on my board at this point. The past 2 rounds, I had just completed my PG and SG rotations, so I draft another SG. I like 2 of Vince's seasons and I can avoid some of the poorer defensive seasons for Pierce. This was not the smartest pick. I also just added a crap ton more minutes

Round 9 - DeMarcus Cousins - Was aiming to take Yao this round and be done with Ewing's backup. Settled for Cousins and got 2.5 seasons out of him to backup Ewing.

Round 10 - PJ Brown - Took PJ to cover all minutes behind Mason. Low usage, good to decent defense and Boards well for a SF.

Round 11 - Dan Roundfield - I was looking for someone with 1 or 2 good seasons. Dan gives me 3 useable seasons that i do not fear using. I can also shift him to SF on my 2 worst rebounding seasons. He backs up Russell with such low minutes, I should not have to worry about his low efg seasons.

Round 12 - John Collins - 2 seasons that I can easily put on any of my teams.

Overall synopsis - I put too much focus on finding 5 useful seasons early on that I really missed out on some players. I do not feel like I have a championship team, but I feel like I have a trio of playoff teams.

And oof, putting the teams together was not fun. Let me see how many times I can pull them tonight.

Also I'm pretty sure I can play 82 OT games with each squad and be fine with fatigue. The lineup options I have are going to drive me crazy.

as I work to build these teams I wish I had a dude like Russell to just plug in - I feel like that was solid

Sure I’m on the list at some point.

It's funny because as soon as I read that I was like uh-oh, what did I screw up
6/10/2020 12:27 AM
@24kpyrite: I thought Mason and Dumars were awesome picks in their spots fwiw.
