Agreed - great work Elmo, and props for putting your time and effort into something you love. The whiners and criticizers tried to bring down Galileo, too...

It seems like a good idea, but I think 30 dollars is way too much.

Have to agree on the price being too steep for me. I do appreciate the time elmore had to put into this project, but I was thinking $10 for this 'add-on' would have been worth every penny, even if I didn't end up using it much.
Somehow $30 just seems outrageous...

if $30 is to much for you to spend why don't you try to make a product like it for less...Elmo put alot of time into it and its very reasonable compared to the spreadsheet that they have for GD and its alot better in many ways. let's see I spend a hour a day downloading stats and using my spread sheets and here elmos program does that for me with no time at the computer, I think its worth $30 per season but elmo is only charging for it once. Good Job Elmo

I'm sure any developer/businessperson would want to know what people thought of his or her product, including opinions about the price. What with all the "if you don't like it then go away" talk? Thats about as useless as any of the negative comments I've seen in this thread.

that is laughable and ridiculous... a lot of other people have made good points for elmo's thing and you come on and say that. 30 dollars per season for a helper to a game that costs around 10 dollars a season to play.... yup that makes tons of sense.

take a look above your head as the point i was trying to make is flying WAY above it. unfortunately, no matter how slow i type won't help. my point about the price was - if you really want to know, but from your post, i'd guess not - is that if you feel the price was too high (mind you, now its at $20 if you get the promo with 2 weeks free), you can and would send sitemail to elmore.

i appreciate that everyone here is a capatilist, but we're all part of a community that does (or at least should) help each other out. sitemails would be the proper way to advise elmore to lower the price rather than in the public forum. you and tmac, et al, depsite the posts to the contrary, are just being *****. congrats.

Price isn't even an issue. $20. $30. $50. Who cares? The issue is interest. Is it something of value to you?
I just cannot get over those that complain about HD's cost of $12 every 45 days or this one-time cost. If you like it, get it. If you don't, don't. If you like it, but cannot afford it, take out a loan. It should run you about 13 cents a day for a year or you can take an extra job at a local bakery and earn it about 3 hours time.
Perhaps you can read books for money or ref a local 7th grade BB game. Baseball umpires make about $50 a game so that might be an option. You could do both games of a twinbill and come out ahead. Heck, clip coupons. You could save about $50 in about a month doing that.
More options include looking for loose change under bleachers after a game, selling holiday wreaths at Christmas, magazines or books around the neighborhood (although you'd probably have to compete with the local 4th graders in your neighborhood.) Take on a paper route for one day, mow 2 yards, babysit a kid for a few hours.
As you drink your $1 soda, your $3.50 coffee and eat your $2.50 bagel, think about whether or not it's the money or your interest level.

Great post Rails that was my point also plus look at the time it would save (compared to spreadsheets) it will more then make up the amount spent

NP tmac I understand to alot of people it is alot to pay but for me personally it would be worth it just for the time I would save, plus since I keep the stat records for wooden world I think it might help there also, but we will have to see
3/30/2008 6:28 PM
I'll probably give it a shot for $20.
