Scouting Services & Potential Topic

i like the potential idea. but the strong point of my hoop dynasty game is my recruiting(certainly not my coaching). and this will now give others the chance to be better recruiters. well there goes my chances of consistant winning!

I would have a problem with two coaches teaming up to drive off others, or with two high-prestige coaches blatently splitting up top players so they never competed with each other, but could out compete everyone else. Just sharing information about recruits doesn't seem to be in the same ballpark as these things though.

Yup. I don't see much wrong with sharing information that anybody is able to get.

I agree srunstro. It adds a personal side to the game along with all the computer simulation stuff. Make alliances and get some info. But I do think that 'drafting' your players between schools isn't a good idea.

I already share information with people when I shouldn't

Collusion, you are now on probation.

the advantage i like in the scouting service is the updates on the recruits you are targeting. to me this is the biggest advantage and this can only be utilized by the school that paid for the service.

Actually when you target a recruit there on your list and you can see if there undecided or whatever. No advantage gained by having them tell you this.

The changes are good ones and make sense.

There should not be a predictable, linear progression of improvement in every skill.

Scouting services will be a great addition. It should be fun to use them.

Good call. That is huge, especially if you are below BCS league and need that info to figure out if you can hold on or not. My question is, does this tell you what school is doing the pushing or just that someone is?

Its not telling you if they are undecided or not its telling you if a school is pushing hard for said guy. If you are the only one being considered that doesn't mean that no one is/isn't trying to jump on your guy.

Fregoe is right though. Just being undecided/considering us/considering us and other schools doesn't really tell you who's in front. The recruits E-mails go a long way to letting you know who's leading, but the scouting sounds like it will provide a much higher level of detail.
