Writing the HBD Handbook Topic

There is, in effect, a hard cap on the number of pitches a pitcher can throw in HBD. It is not limitless. I think we've all agreed on this.

An 18/62, just to keep using that combo, has a limit. You will not get 5700 pitches from this guy. You might get 2500 or you might get 2300. But, no matter how you use him, he will not get 3500.

Gimme a break. Even a newb will see straight through that one. Now you are contradicting yourself: << A 18/62 that's effective will get a lot more innings than an ineffective 18/62. >>

Haven't you babies sat in your sandbox throwing sand on one another long enough? Shame, shame, shame. Now go stand in the corner until your nanny gets here.

Well, if there ever is a manual, we can all hope that MikeT and Tecwrg AREN'T asked to contribute. After all, they've taken up three pages here and haven't solved a thing!

This thread is SOOOOOOO helpful. It should be pinned.

Blame tec for adding nothing to a correct statement.

To recap:

n00b ask question.
tec says "Questions should be asked elsewhere."
I answer question.
n00b says "Thanks."
tec agrees with my response despite saying "That's misleading."
9 pages of BS with tec still agreeing with me while arguing that he isn't.
This post.

AND....we're done. Everyone's said what they needed to say. Back on topic, please.

I'd like to see three sections: Facts (provable beyond a reasonable doubt), Debates (the PC catcher stuff is just the tip of the iceberg there, fellas) and Theories (everything else - TheJester's work comes to mind here, as well as stuff like maddiesdad's spreadsheet programs).

I'm certainly not an authority on this game and any project like this needs MANY viewpoints and contributors. I look forward to the help offered by sitemail and already received in this thread. If you want to help - please. The Mentors will be (I hope) a big help because they hear "new" questions more often than do the denizens of the forums.

Please answer the following questions, either in this thread or by sitemail. Thanks for your help!!

***What are topics that the Handbook should address?***

***What are topics the Handbook should not address?***

***What three things would you tell a new HBD owner, if asked for advice?***

Yeah, I'm about to start another thread on this. I was thinking about the dumbassery of this particular discussion while I walked the dogs.

GET BACK ON TOPIC!!

Maybe I've been in worlds for too long with Mike but I didn't think it was misleading and agreed with what he said.

You were mislead. There is no hard cap. There is a range within which you would expect him to be able to pitch, but it depends greatly on how he is used. Of course, that is true for a pitcher of any durability/stamina combination.

I thought miket's assertion of a hard cap was pretty bizarre right from the start. He backed himself into a corner and couldn't get out without starting his own thread, where use of the redline will make him appear right. (Edit: LOL at baby miket. Not five minutes after I said this about his use of the redline ... zap! How predictable.)

I hope the dogs are ok.

Thanks for making me read that in case I missed an important plot device.
