To win a division, win PCT is the gating factor (.500), and the best field equation is the differentiator. I'm proposing essentially the same formula for the WC: win PCT is the gating factor (in this case, best PCT in league), and again the field equation be the differentiator.
You could reasonably choose head-to-head as the tie-break, but this doesn't seem as in keeping with the spirit of the league theme.
Not a member of the league, but as an outsider I agree. The theme was to create the best defensive team possible, with win pct (.500) being the gating factor. In all fairness, I think if there was a tie, the wild card team should be picked with the same formula.. on the other hand, the league was created with the rule being that the tiebreaker was head-to-head.
If you have a vote, obivously several teams will be biased based on their standing in the league. One solution would be to have the NL vote for the AL and vice versa.
If enough votes are passed, switch the formula for the WC spot, if not leave it.
Anyhow, there's my two cents.. good luck fellas.
