How often, though, are you going to have guards that have a higher COMBINATION of athleticism and Rebounding or low post? YOu aren't.

And with the low post, you definitely won't, having looked at the recruits.

For example, the highest rated division one guard in REB is 54 in the test world. . and he is 6'5" and a Juco with only two years .

On PF and center you go 300 recruits down and the LOWEST starting rebounding is still a 63. SO the number 300 best rebounding post recruit in dI starts out 9 points higher than the BEST rebounding guard recruit.

Alright just want to make sure, because from the way it was stated in the Dev. Chat, was that you would have Guards lighting it up in the Reb. & LP ratings, just don't think it would be realistic to have such a thing, yea I can see a guard starting with say a 45 Reb, and making it up to say 55-60 at the most, anymore development then that wouldnt be realistic in my mind.

Just isolating Rondo for a minute, he had 14 games with 7 or more rebounds in the regular season and averaged 4.4 RPG.

In the playoffs, he has had more than 7 rebounds in 4 out of 9 games and is averaging 7.1 RPG.

He is 6-1, 171.

this. i have consistently recruited very talented guards, making high rebounding guards my absolute #1 priority. and never, not even once, did i have a guard who could compete with my bigs in terms of rebounding. so while everybody is correct that a guard shouldn't be able to compete with a 7 footer on the boards... they can't, they can't even compete with the 6 foot 8 guys.

To take my examples from Pro to NCAA ... Look at John Wall. In 23 games after Kentucky began playing their Conference schedule, Wall had 7 or more rebounds 5 of 23 games. He had more than 5 rebounds in 10 of 23 games.

Wall had more rebounds than assists in 7 games during this last season.

Very much agree with this, whoever thinks a guard will out-rebound a big over the course of a season, and on a consistent basis is very much in la la land.

Yes you can find guards that can get position and get 5-7 rebounds a game, but over the course of an entire season that guard will even out to around 5 rpg, where as a big will average around 9-10 rpg.

Nobody said a team with 4 Gs and an SF would win a lot...

Neither did I lol

Ok, lets not be comparing Chris Bosh to Jose Calderon. In that case, Bosh has a 90+ rebound rating.

I don't think any of us expect to see PG/SG with rebound ratings above 60, and that would be for a special John Wall type rebounding guard.

The good rebounding D1 bigs will have rebounding ratings way above 60.

Is it plausible that a shorter D1 talent guard can outrebound taller, D2/D3 level bigs, yes!

So why have height matter....ITS IN THE RATINGS ALREADY!

If you are 7'0" and have a 50 rebounding rating you are like a crappy Shawn Bradley. If you are 6'1" and have a 50 rebound rating you are close to the best rebounding guard in HD. Why is this a problem?

its not people jus tliek to complain

The problem all comes back to the No position penalty, if you have a 50-60 rated guard in REB, I better not see him playing the PF spot, if not the SF position

That's what I don't like, and with no position penalty, this may very well happen
5/11/2010 4:11 PM
If he is playing the PF position against a real PF< he'll get dominated, as the WORST of the top 300 recruits at PF and center woudl START with a higher rebound rating than him.
