Allen/Smith: HD... Gamma? Topic

Fouls are a bit extreme for sure.

fouls are WAY up for press teams. And they should be up some....A IQ press teams fouled so little in the prev engine, but I think fouls might be up for everyone too, compounding things.

Hope your team can shoot FTs.

This will be skewed to more 3pt's taken until the roster rolls over to all new recruits. Most of our guards have little LP compared to the new recruits. However, I just had two centers with 1 and 2 PER set to -2 go 2-2 from 3.

Seems like a lot of big men are shooting 3s at an unreasonable clip.

100% agreed reinsel -- a lot of big men hitting threes, and a pretty crazy amount of fouls for the press. (And I say that not being a press coach, so I don't have a personal axe to grind.)

Yeah, Maryland (a dominant A+ prestige press team with a great roster) got thumped by nonpressing Lipscomb in the 2nd exhibition game. THAT should not be happening. I know, 1 game, but pressing Miami (#1) got whupped by Brown, and there are a lot of other examples.

I think the key change just that there are WAY fewer steal=">layup" events. The average pressing team would get 20 points a game on those, and now they aren't, and that is a big big swing.

Plus press is generating more fouls (good), but I think it is giving up too many made shots.

My team is young, but we committed 22 fouls in the 1st half playing press. And Florida Atlantic who is a really crap SIM team beat us by 38 & shot nearly 66%. In other games i noticed with teams playing press, the opponents are shooting a far too high %. If this keeps up, there's going to be a whole lot of disappointed people jumping ship. The changes already look too drastic, and it's 2 games into exhibition.

Not to mention in WISBook, Miami is a 265 point favorite tonight. I think they should have done more testing before putting this new engine through.

Note to self: don't take Miami.

And no games until Monday. I was looking forward to taking Northwestern -72 over Portland State.

Luckily point spreads are irrelevant to the game and doesnt affect the engine.
