Plague's motto:  "Shut up and play like a man, you pu$$y!!!  And smell like one, too!!  A man, that is, not a pu$$y!!!"

Plague, getting ready for another day of holding back prospects and making unbalanced trades:

By the way, there aren't many cultures that consider taking advantage of the weak a manly act.   I guess you live in a land where it is because that's what you're advocating.

None of us, the reasonably experienced, successful owners, are saying "DON'T YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US, PLAGUE, YOU MANLY MAN!!", we're saying screwing over someone who doesn't know any better isn't an act of courage, justice or whatever you're calling it.
I don't call it justice, courage, or anything else, I call it part of the game. I don't need to label it anything. I only brought up the man/pu$$y remarks because it seem to be the words you guys understood. I tried to keep it to a debate of opinions, but some of you resorted to high school word tactics like tard or trade rape so I went to the equal...

This lack of moral filter bring me back to a suggestion I had prior (and brought up again for the possible launch of Hockey Dynasty);

Beginner leagues.
Intermediate leagues.
Advanced leagues.

Then plague's moral disintegration is plausable if he's doing it in an Advanced league. You get what you deserve.

Alas, no such thing exists. Thus, we must rely on what is right and the power of the veto, and we can see that people that like to bend someone over do not join leagues that would put up the moral and ethical filter, either because they don't care or they don't know any better.

In the end, doesn't bother me. I get no joy winning the 10-12 year old cross country race. Others do.

Lack of institutional control.

Unfortunately, IC is required in HBD.   If you start the season 20-42, there's really no reason to win any of the last 100.   It's actually beneficial to lose.  You're not getting fired, fans aren't complaining, the bottom line doesn't take a hit and the players don't ***** because they're sitting behind someone with half the talent.   So, without someone saying "Win some damn games", some people will simply play for draft position.

The same applies to fair trade.   If there's no one who insists that screwing over the inexperienced or unknowledgeable is a bad thing, some people will do it.  They'll build their powerhouses and leave another team with no talent.  Then you'll be complaining because you can't find anyone to take your horrible teams when you roll.   Unless, of course, you can bring in another inexperienced/unknowledgeable owner to repeat the process.  It's not just a commentary on the individual owner(s), it's an indictment of the world where he's doing it.

I'm sure if we all met you in person, your manly essence would be readily apparent.

Personally, I already said it's a cheesy way to build a team.  But I doubt that your ego will permit you to acknowledge your cheesiness, seeing that you've somehow arrived at the conclusion that you play HBD like a manly man (seriously, WTF?)

Did this argument really start because plague said they should come up in their 5th season, and mike argued that they should come up once you have to put them on the 40-man?  Maybe my math is wrong, but isn't that the same season?

After they've played 4 pro seasons, you have to put them on the 40 which would be their 5th season.

Yeah, your math is wrong.  And so is your understanding of the "dispute".    plague said "I don't bring up prospects unless they can help me win the WS."   I said "You're doing your world a disservice if you're keeping studs in the minors because you don't think you can win the WS this season."

Then he went on about screwing n00bs in trade.

You just gotta take the text and transpose it onto this picture and you have plague:

Nice one, tard, I feel slighted now. Why should I cry, you guys are the ones doing all the crying. I am trying to say play like a man and be responsible for your own actions.

You guys remind me of the old days when I played online role playing games on the player killer servers. I would kill someone and then get a personal message that  involved about 25 cuss words, then I would send a message back saying "I know, you don't have to tell me I was there, I was the one that killed you."...Then they would go about doing the same exact thing not learning anything from their mistakes...If I got killed I would say nothing, evaluate my situation, and decide what to do next. I don't expect to get babied or pampered because someone was better or more experienced than me. I just never grew up playing games like that, expect that, or desire that. That just feels pu##y like to me, which yes is a negative branded label.
This has to be about the nerdiest thing I've ever read on these forums.

And considering the nature of this site, I think that's pretty noteworthy!
