I just watched the hi-lights of the game between Columbus and LA, and lo and behold, some guy from Columbus steered Drew Doughty right into the same style of partition that Chara steered Pacioretty into.  Guess what? Even though Doughty hobbled off the ice holding his mouth, no penalty was called!  I guess those penalties are reserved for 6ft 5 or taller?  or is it because the 5 mph difference in the speed between Pacioretty and Doughty means that the guy hitting Pacioretty is a criminal and the guy hitting Doughty is a saint because Pacioretty's own speed caused him to get a broken neck while Doughty's lack of speed saved him?  I guess perspective is everything.

....that and no hands to doughty`s head
Bulls*it.  Your only real complaint here is that it happened to a Montreal player.  I bring up the same scenario in a different game between two different players and you slough it off as though it's meaningless.  Get off your soapbox because you just lost your right to a complaint.

but i am not on a soapbox
and i have not lost my right to complaining

Like the rest of you, point #3 is the biggy for me.
"Repeat offenders"?

What does this make Chara now (with no disciplinary action haven been taken)?

"Illegal hits"?
If Chara's hit wasn't (and still isn't) considered an "illegal hit" by NHL standards then doesn't this exercise seem pointless?

* Oh, and another thing.....it would be great to start a nation-wide data-bank of "repeat offenders" in Bantam so these guys have little chance of making it.

THE NUMBERS ARE BS, DUE TO THE FOLLOWING

When they calculate the hours lost due to concussion
they don't count anyone who was concussed where there was no suspension
....like Max or Crosby ....

so however many hours they lost will not be added in
.... then they tell us penalties causing lost time due to concussion is down from last year

.... way to skew the data!

So, in essence, since they leave out certain numbers with their calculations,
their number results end up being lies.

The real problem is that there are too many dirty hits and not enough suspensions for them. Remember that open ice blindside hit that Mike Richards put on that Booth player a couple of years ago? Richards got a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. No suspension, no fine. I'm a Flyers fan and I even thought that Richards should have been at least fined.

The Habs used it as a HIGHLIGHT of the game on their own website! Frickin hypocrites.

C'mon zinnerpeg...where's the outrage over Matt Cooke's latest act? Oh wait, it was a Ranger, not a Canadien, so we probably won't hear anything from you.
