Practical applications of the 2nd Amendment... Topic

Nor would anyone else with a brain.   Or for any of the other pet causes people have.    No one you know, and I'm sure you know alot, would answer yes to that.    What kind of answer were you fishing for?   Maybe there's a website for it.

It takes all of 5 seconds re reload.  Oh, and the AR-15 jammed.  But hey, details.
Is that an official time that was measured in the heat of that kind of moment? Or just a time you're pulling out of your ***. 5 times 12 is an extra minute. Perhaps someone tackles him while reloading. To say there is no difference is ludicrous.
"Heat of the moment".  Because you are going to be very nervous when you are shooting at a theater full of unarmed people and you're wearing body armor.

12 rounds?  Are you serious.  Most sidearms have more rounds per mag.

There is a difference.  A very slight one.  But you're right.  In your fantasy world of a panic stricken theater, "perhaps someone tackles him."

I hear the company who owns the theater has designated all their theaters "no gun zones".  Works well.
Yeah, a dorky scientist with zero history of violence is going to waltz into a crowded theatre to shoot as many people as he can and he's not going to feel any bit of nervousness or excitement.  Another day at the office.  Get real.  I'll bet he would have tried to fire for 5 seconds before realizing he was out of ammo.

9 mm's might hold 15ish, but most guns don't.

Fantastic comeback.  Way to go.  He has body armor on.  There is almost no chance of anyone else having a gun, because of those wonderful gun laws and the movie theater policy you are such a fan of.  So if he has a mag of 10, 20, 30 rounds, etc. this thing ends up exactly as it did.  Oh, and let us again focus on the magazine of the gun that jammed.

Riddle me this:  why do all the cities with the strictest gun laws have the most gun violence?
Has it occured to you that they have strict gun laws because they have so much violence?
Has it occurred to you that they have had these strict gun laws for years?
Has it occured to you that they've had gang problems for years?

So is that an admission that gun laws don't work?  An admission that those that commit crimes are not going to abide by gun laws?  Thanks for playing.

How many of you would trade your own life, or that of your child, for the right to allow people to own 100-round drums for their AR-15s?
That is the dumbest comment so far on this thread.

So body armor soothes all fears and nerves in a situation like that? Highly doubtful.

Sweet it jammed, good thing. I hope you're not relying on the magazine jamming every time. Next time maybe it can jam before 70 people were shot.

I think I wouldnt.

Would you be willing to give your own life, or the life of your child to prevent people from owning a 100 round drum?

And this is the game. Pick the one oddball pieve of equipment and make it about that.

The powerful anti-gun alliance doesnt want to take away 100 round drums, they want to take away all guns.

I want me some "poerful".  swamp lacks any sense of self respect. Ignorance and conservatism seem to go together like ham and cheese.

Ignore the side issue. I know Alinsky taught you the side issue is the way to avoid talking about an issue you cant win.

Turn from the dark side.

Discuss issues and facts!

Try to respond to a real issue.

Why are you acting like it is complicated and time consuming to eject a spent mag, reload and chamber a round?  Especially when you have practiced the same.  Because all reports indicate he had been planning this for months.

Again, you are concentrating on the wrong thing.

I'll ask the vets who come in to drink today how easy they think it was for this guy to do this. Most of them have at least two tours in the current quagmire. They will probably have a better perspective than you or I.

I admit, I really don't know how easy it would be and I suspect you don't know either. They probably have a good idea.

Alinsky? You jump to conclusions based on what your leaders tell you is today's hot button. The truth is that the most influential mentor I have had was James T. Farrell.

Lawyer Alan Dershowitz
Obama Czar Cass Sunstein
Mayor of Rusido in New Mexico

Found those names in a short look.

This is in line with the European style Socialism of Obama. He has supported gun bans in Illinois and Washington DC. As a politician he cannot come out against all guns, but his lack of respect for gun owners is clear.

Mitt banned guns in mass. What about that?
7/25/2012 1:31 PM

Romney siged a law that had wide bi-partisan support in the Mass legislature. He didnt promote it.

Nice try though.
