don't need that many assists to get well over the basement but there's not enough to get up into the 100+ penthouse so he's kind of free to choose a shoot first guy at point - he could almost just do a specialist like McMillan even which would allow him to shore up his D ( I really don't hate a couple 50s nested between 80/90s)

well theirs a guy that fit all those things at pg. hopefully he makes it to me.
3/21/2014 11:39 PM
Yeah there's a PG that I absolutely love IN RL that never ever gets drafted in any league. I think that logain's team is the only one that he could ever fit on due to the other high EFG% and high usages.

btw I see very little (none?) critical commentary from our reigning champ

Well he's running the draft and as always done a great job. I encourage anyone who has never done the full evals to step up and try it. I did it before I won my first title because the great uvasooner dropped out after winning his 4th title and he didn't do the evals the next season. Why don't we give dh555 a chance to get it done like he always does, and show some patience ourselves. Like I said if anyone who hasn't done it would like to see how hard and time consuming it is than go for it. I've done the evals for this league at least 4 times myself.

if it's sunday... it must be, "Meet The dePressed"

1. natenoy - Wilt Chamberlain, Horace Grant, Brent Barry
is there's a pg left to bring it together? tough go, unless wilt dishes, but nate's reachin' for 50pt. wilt. tough go #2

2. 98average - LeBron James, Mookie Blaylock, Robert Parish
just 3, but already a spooky look

3. banditone - Dikembe Mutombo, Clyde Drexler, Stephen Curry, M.L. Carr
wo yao ba ni da ru leng gong (I put you in the dungeon with my other wives)

4. tricky24 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Buck Williams, Ray Allen, Dana Barros
pure street ball here... squads needs a bulldog to bring it all together.

5. slymonium - Michael Jordan, Chauncey Billups, Shawn Kemp, Andrei Kirilenko
who's gonna be the big man? if sly finds him, he slides up to a no. 1 seed

6. thomcat - Moses Malone, Bob McAdoo, Terry Porter, Gerald Wallace
where does GW play? porter needs assistant assist-man.

7. longtallbrad - Dwight Howard, Donyell Marshall, Tom Boerwinkle, Kevin Johnson
was onboard this train until the KJ pick. there's still an undrafted pg who plays d, dimes up, shoots 3's and is upper 20 usage%

8. scudmissle - Dennis Rodman, Alonzo Mourning, Elton Brand, Jerry West, Rodney McCray
these guys should not be taken lightly. find 6th round 3's

9. logain - Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Durant, Cedric Maxwell
pick your poison. dynamic trio

10. theyard2 - Karl Malone, Tyson Chandler, Larry Nance, Rajon Rondo
5th round pick is important here... these 4 are already a thoroughbred

11. steelers821 - David Robinson, Jerry Lucas, Paul Pierce, Chris Webber
this is not drob's team... too bad. the 8.3M lucas will be sorely needed

12. felonius - Tim Duncan, Julius Erving, Wes Unseld, Charlie Ward
serge would have brought the knife to the throat. wes is steady though.

13. dh555 - Charles Barkley, Anfernee Hardaway, Deron Williams, Anthony Mason
first 3 picks,, demonic forces at work. don't like some of the money being paid for mason's dimes... needed better beast boarder

14. mikee1 - Artis Gilmore, Scottie Pippen, Serge Ibaka, Blake Griffin
I actually like the blake pick. he fits in well. I like this team

15. pennsylvania - Larry Bird, Bill Walton, Emeka Okafo, Maurice Cheeks
this team has even less 3's than mine, and a long way to go to shore up other areas. "Men at Work"

16. smokey57 - Kevin Garnett, Gary Payton, Dirk Nowitzki, Wesley Person
who let the dogs out! love the offensive tsunami... hate the 1-shot attempts, then get back on def concept

17. jhsukow - Mel Daniels, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Kevin Love, Amare Stoudemire
team comes at you from all angles... all the time. not much d, but everything else

18. tarheel1991 - Ben Wallace, Manu Ginobili, Andrew Bynum, Derek Harper
classified ads: in need of one explosive wingman. lots to choose from... which is sad

19. vancem - Chris Paul, Kevin McHale, Willis Reed, Walt Frazier
jawbreaker usage: 27, 24, 21, 24... bo outlaw was just drafted. scary mix so far

20. jkaye24 - Bill Russell, Jason Kidd, Patrick Ewing, Tracy McGrady
angels and demons here. what wingman provides balance?

21. maglor1 - Hakeem Olajuwon, Oscar Robertson, Walt Bellamy, Marques Johnson
kind of team I don't get... kind of team that surprises the league

22. sixernuggets - John Stockton, Bobby Jones, Jack Sikma, Dan Issel
kind of team I don't get... kind of team that surprises no one (sorry, sixer)

23. eleibowitz - Dwyane Wade, Marcus Camby, Carlos Boozer, Nick Anderson
love boozer! you are thirsty for dimes, and orebs. eleibo is still a Mozart

24. iccoachb - Magic Johnson, Shawn Marion, Zelmo Beaty, Pau Gasol
not sure what I think. I see good... see bad... see happy... see sad

congratulations - I (or someone just like me) has also won this theme multiple times and I (or someone just like me) have done the evals multiple times - hell I (or someone just like me) may have been the one who inaugurated the idea of evals in the first place - hell I posted a movie themed eval a few iterations back just for giggles - it's not that hard (oh look scud just did one in a matter of minutes)

and anyway all I did was make an observation, completely clear of any judgment, so I'm not sure why you're getting all pants in a twist about it

just dont have the time to do running evals...march madness is dominating all my free time

but ill bang out full evals for everyone when the draft is over and we are waiting on teams to enter...that will actually be better because i can see what seasons you guys used so the evals will be less guesswork

appreciate the kind words vance...but i dont think felonius meant too much by his comment...i wasnt offended

i feel like this is the best team i have drafted(not saying to much). i really cant find a weakness with this team even the fouls are a plus for me
3/22/2014 2:20 PM
I like it - just about enough of all the important stuff, nicely spread around
3/22/2014 2:33 PM
excited to see what barkley is gonna do in this offense...i have 100% ast in my starting lineup
3/22/2014 2:59 PM
if you pick the right seasons it looks like you might just get up over100% - assist% could be interesting
3/22/2014 3:52 PM
The cumulative ast% of the five guys on the floor is taken into account right after the die roll determines a FGA.  This number includes the player shooting the ball and is reflected by the lowered ast% of everyone in the sim.  The formula in the sim doesn't remove a player's own fgm from the equation while the formula IRL does, causing everyone to have a lower ast% here but is balanced by the fact that a player's own ast% affects his own shot.

The rationale for this is that WIS didn't want high ast% players like Stockton, CP3, etc to be affected by the ast% penalty because the other four guys on the floor didn't make the required minimum.  This evidence for this is apparent:  high ast% guys on teams with moderate/average cumulative ast% aren't tanking their own fg%.

This comes straight from the guy who programs this crap.  I figured out why ast% was so much lower in the sim than real life & asked about it.  They answered me with a confirmation of the first paragraph and the second paragraph as the reason why.  As soon as they did, I shared this knowledge with the community as I so often do.  I don't feel like looking for the thread, but it exists somewhere.

Therefore, while the idea of spread out assists does not harm a team, it also doesn't do a single thing to help them either.

And going nuts on cumulative ast% does provide real benefits.  The evidence of that is ample as well.  Just take a look at the top 25 and you'll run into a few teams that are doing it.  I don't think you can pull it off in a draft league and win a championship, but you can definitely still get some benefit from understanding and utilizing parts of the strategy.

I suppose that I should be paying better attention. Isn't there a division draft again? Felonius' team killed mine in the playoffs last season but my team won the division and won 55 games. There's some mind boggling teams so far that I can't figure out ;/
