As far as I'm concerned, he (with assistance) saved our economic bacon from the disaster of the previous Republican economic practices.
At some cost, mind you.
Is why the debt shot up.
Still not nearly as fast as the Republican administrations before him.
Check out the rate of National debt increase uder "W's" daddy!!
Or even Reagan.

In MY lifetime it is the Repugs, who have been the economic disasters, NOT the Dem. administrations.
In FACT, with the help of a Repub. congress, it was a DEMOCRAT who gave us the first balanced budget (even a surplus!!) in my lifetime!!!
Until we voted in another Republican and he nearly bankrupted us.

Doc I am over 70, and till a week ago I was a Republican. I would never say all Republicans, or all Democrats, are anything. I also have never voted a straight party line. Please don’t use the President’s demeaning nicknames in referring to his opponents. I switch parties so I can be one vote in a critical state on who will run against him, and also because of local issues in our township. I think we are all entitled to support who we believe is best without irrational attacks on our character.

obama had to fight to bail out even the auto industry...repubs sais let it go into bkry.
right when a stable economy and stable underpinnings re - emerges
we now have runaway spending again and massive tax cuts.that are too massive for sustainability.
and we no longer have the low interest rates that have always been used against a recession.
right now jay powell is issuing dire warnings.
using perspective - if lifelong republican jay powell is under a dark cloud of anxiety
we are in a heap of trouble down the road.
many have always said we are - yours truly has..
now jay powell is very very concerned.
the new budget with a trillion cuts in medicare ..medicaid...and health insurance is no coincidence.

Agree with Bags!! It HAS been much worse.
The 2nd observation is laughable though. The "if" doesn't apply.
The evidence is quite clear Trump will (can not ever!) not "shut his mouth" or check his twitter finger.

He was sued by the federal government in the 70’s for refusing to let blacks rent his apartments in Queens. The suit was settled. His full page ad in the NYT asserting that the Central Park 5 were guilty, his sweeping characterization of Mexicans as murderers and Rapists, his sweeping characterization of African countries and Haiti as shithole countries, Muslim ban, patronizing phrasing of a black supporter as “ my African American, suggesting that the nazi and kkk in Charlottesville are good people...yeah, I would conclude Trump is a racist.
