Harden was 9th on my board.

Yeah, I was surprised Harden fell this far after how well he did in the first edition.

He sat at the top of my draft board for a LONG time,
and even up to the end, I tried to talk myself into other remaining options -
assuming as did others...

I've had a few of the other available players in Progressives and or decade leagues
was TEMPTED -
still, I'm leery for some reason,
and he really not what I thought I would do at 16....
but ... Opportunity knocks

The only people drafted ahead of him I could even make an argument for are Bird and Garnett and it is close. It is a fair spot for him. dBKC did a lot right in the draft. Picking Harden sooner isn’t going to make anyone a sure thing.

DH: one final plea that you make a definitive call now on whether or not we're using 19-20 seasons. I realize we would prefer to have them, and you don't want to risk waiting forever to start the league when we don't know when the seasons will be out. But planning for the possibility of both having and not having those guys is going to be really difficult for the teams that pick them. It's not just a question of gambling on the value, but in having to plan the rest of your team around either having or not having another season. And if we get towards the end of the draft and they're still not out yet, people with affected players are going to have every reason to drag their feet to make sure they get released

So - final plea to reconsider, before we get too deep into the draft. Let's just call it one way or another.

Has anyone started copying over the historical records for the first edition yet?

I agree - people are going to drag the draft out for a long time with the current rule. If we rule something like “we can use them if they’re released by [date], regardless of when the draft finishes” then we could draft without risk of delay and still keep the kind of gamble/roll of the dice element with selecting them.

That makes sense to me. August 16 11:59PM? Seeding games end the 14th.

That’s a Sunday. My interpretation from talks with admin is that the new seasons will be released the week of the 17th, but they haven’t given me a specific day. Usually the season ends on a Wednesday and the seasons are released Friday morning.

To change the decision now on 19-20 players seems unfair. Before I made my pick, I scanned through the threads to find the statement that we will use 19-20 seasons if they come out before the draft ends.

it is on page 1 of the rules. Now people want to change it?

Agreed. It's too late now

Can we make a decision on 20-21 players? Feels like it could come in play for my 1st round pick...

" people are going to drag the draft out for a long time with the current rule " - given the people in this league, this is 100% going to happen if it hasn't already started.

stalling won't be a factor if round 2 going forward is on the clock. I mean we're already at 17. I thought it was a long shot we'd be using 19-20 seasons when the decision was made to start drafting before Savage I playoffs ended. that and the fact that WIS is unreliable when it comes to new releases for basketball.
