I love your post. Please keep posting.
quite an interesting and eclectic bunch.
I obviously lurve Dino Martin but I feel the same about Sinatra most particularly 47 - 66. That’s when his voice was most amazing to me.
the voice of each of them is incomparable to me.
I do know Can but haven’t listened to much by them.good point about the consistency of Aerosmith.
I also hold War in high regard and recently have gained a much greater appreciation for white stripes.
all great stuff.
pink Floyd’s first album is phenomenal too. Too bad about Syd Barrett but he did have a few amazing solo albums. If he hadn’t wigged out maybe no dark side of moon but he was one of the true great psychedelic pioneers.
please come back often.
If you only listened to a little of Can, I would highly recommend the 3 albums which most prominently featured singer Damo Suzuki. Beginning with 1971s "Tago Mago" and ending with "Future Days". Tago Mago is great. Pretty weird on tracks 4 5 and 6 but definitely a precursor to the electronic new wave, avante garde movement of the 80s. Ege Bamyasi is likely the most accessible to the average listener. The rhythm section were amazing. The drummer, in particular, consistently laid down very great, machine like grooves.
I LOVE Piper at the Gates of Dawn, while most can't listen to it. Definitely unique and not anything like what people think of when hearing someone mention Pink Floyd. Dark Side through The Wall, was a stretch of greatness hard to match by any band before or since.
Yeah, I never considered Aerosmith "great", (although their first GH album is one of the best of all time IMO. I've had it stolen from me more than any other album/CD. Followed closely by Steve Miller GH 1974-1978), but their consistency is definitely worthy of consideration and ranking them appropriately because of it.
