Berkelon, that is a high class move, but I will play it where it lies and stick with Wood.
As I said, I am partly responsible because I missed the proxy pick being made.
But for the record to pex, I went to bed at 10 thinking there was a pick still to be made before mine. It wasnt my thought that I was making others wait, I was just thinking it didnt matter if I slept ovevnight because even if a pick was made, there was no clock.

Where are we at in the draft and who's on the clock?

I don't think you misunderstood it. I think it was changed while you were on the clock, which was a poor decision and unfair to you. But, you could have also just sent a 2 player proxy to the next user if all you were waiting on was sam to pick

Yes, it was changed by me during that wait because I am trying to prevent that exact way of thinking you had. I want owners thinking along the lines of "well, I better make a proxy pick and keep this thing moving" instead of "wll, with that 3 hour skip rule in place, I won't be skipped until morning and I'll just go to bed now and hold the whole thing up for the next ten hours or so"

I really like poexetera's suggestion and that will most likely be what we go back to next DDL. As for losing Holmgren, he is a nice player, but not the ONLY reason you'll be competitive or not at this point. Thinking that is just pure folly. Wood is a great replacement--he does more things on a court.

Do you not have your SM forwarded to your email? I sent you a SM at 7:58pm telling you it was your pick. I also sent one to rift saying he was after you. It shows as read, but I don't know when you read it. There are a few suggestions you can do to be more connected to the draft. Since you didn't realize it had actually been your pick for hours, did you consider that the person you were waiting on might pick before you woke up in the morning and that there are others after you who are ready and would also like to pick overnight. I don't think you had any bad intentions, but it is not considerate to the draft to not leave a proxy if you pick next and are going to bed. that goes for everybody. .

I still think you've got a good team going, you're a good owner and a good guy. not that I know you that well, but join the discord and we can all get to know each other better. we don't participate in this little slice of heaven unless we have some common interests so we might as well connect. I also like the suggestion made by poexeterainsomniacsgrilledcheesesandwichextrapicklespleasejohnsonjacksonsmithtunaspaghettionastick. Over on the baseball side schwarze has been using time slots plus the three hour rule and it has worked well.

I have a discord account. The inner circle of users is somewhat elite-y and has never given a mid level user like me the time of day. After a while getting ignored takes the fun out of it. No boo hoo about it, but its not for me.

Moving on, outside of the absurdity of changing a rule mid turn, there is nothing more to take from this situation.

6 guys picked last night before 8am. It's not just amerk who wants to keep the draft moving. and you're not one of the habitual slow pickers either, so this is a specific case where we get to discuss what happens overnight with a 3 hour rule and what happens when an owner inadvertently misses the posted proxy pick and the SMs.

we had a good discussion last night on the discord watching the end of game 1 together. it was fun. it was funnier when rift picked Haliburton right after he hit the game winner. SM Robusk, you'll be welcome. we've been playing these sims together for years. i just joined myself. but I agree, lets get back to drafting.
