pexetera - of all the 1st rounders i think i was most curious about what barkley seasons would be used...personally i would have went with 90-91 but i know you like the high defense, so im not too surprised about the seasons you chose
Yeah, Chuck would be a difficult one to decide which ones to use because he has so many great ones.
87-88 & 89-90 are no complete no brainers.
88-89 is pretty much, too.. just sliiiiiiightly behind those two.
So that's three seasons right there that are pretty much locked in.
86-87 has better D, the same great offense, best overall boards... but high fouls & turnovers. Still, pretty hard to say no to.
85-86 has actual really good defense, same great boards (better drb%), solid offense, but highest fouls & turnovers. Still really good, though.
92-93 has lower efg% than the others but has the best defensive boards, tov% (well except for the 94-95 season which wouldn't be used), ast% and is probably the least overall negatives. Probably take this over 85-86 & lock in with 86-87.
90-91 is my favorite to use in cap constraints. Lower def + drb (though 2nd best tov%!) might scare me away in this setting. It wouldn't if the other seasons didn't exist, though.
91-92 is a better season than 98% of the other players even have available and wouldn't garner serious consideration just because of how good every Sixer season (other than his rookie) is. Honestly, you could have two separate Barkleys (80s & 90s versions, or Sixers vs Suns/Rockets) and have two first round worthy guys.
