Might as well have CRAZY RUMOR TIME!!!!

1) There was a rumor before the weekend that if the Brewers played well in St. Louis and convinced the owner that they were turning things around, the Brewers might get involved in the Cliff Lee sweepstakes. Probably a moot point now, though Olney is still talking about a three-way deal involving Lee and the Brewers.

2) Brewers reported to be entertaining offers for relievers Todd Coffey and Carlos Villanueva.

3) The Sporting News seems to think Corey Hart to San Diego for pitching makes a lot of sense for both teams.

4) Supposedly minor league outfielder Lorenzo Cain will be called up today (though he was just promoted to AAA last week). No word on what the corresponding move would be, though Yo to the DL and Cain sent back down when Doug Davis is activated prior to his Friday start might make sense.

Alcides may get to more balls than JJ Hardy did, but sometimes you kind of wish he didn't.

Escobar given the night off after several defensive miscues over the weekend, but Craig Counsell throws a double play ball away to start the Giants off on their winning rally. Brewers lose again!

Some Hart-to-SF trade talk but latest word is that Brewers are unlikely to move him unless someone overpays, and Giants supposedly questioning how much of Hart's numbers are due to his "hitter-friendly" park.

yeah, cause the giants have lots of options for offense to be picky. aaron rowand, cleanup hitter, anyone???

Two days after the Lorenzo Cain fiasco (his agent had tweeted "Welcome to the show!" when he was only being brought to Milwaukee in case Gallardo was DL'd), the Brewers decided to put Gallardo on the DL anyway, activating Doug Davis, who is not scheduled to pitch until Friday.

Apparently they realized that while Gallardo's injury delayed their need to make a decision on who Davis would replace in the rotation, they still faced the issue of who Davis would replace on the roster if Gallardo wasn't put on the DL.

Well, it seems like Narveson may have saved Parra's spot in the rotation with tonight's performance.

The Giants came in to Milwaukee having lost 9 of 11, so..... thanks.

It's what we do.

Brewers have apparently sent Jody Gerut and Marco Estrada home to continue their rehab from injury. I'm sure their bad karma was responsible for the latest struggles.

Ryan Braun sitting today against Zito with Joe Inglett playing LF.

Yech.

Gammons has tweeted something about a Corey Hart-to-Braves-for-Mike Minor rumor.

DO IT! SELL SELL SELL!

Because Hart's value sure as hell will never be higher than it is right now.

TRUE. DAT.

Fanhouse now reporting that Rickie Weeks is on the market along with Fielder and Hart.

I'm sure all Brew Krew fans are devastated by Geoff Jenkins' retirement today. He signed a contract with Milwaukee for $1, and retired.

The most shocking part is that he's #2 on Milwaukee's all-time HR list.
