Well, to conservatives, "critical race theory" is teaching that racism is bad.

I completely agree, Doug. We should all agree that the statues of these traitorous Democrats should be taken down.

No one is arguing that CRT should be taught in public schools. It's an advanced college level subject/theory.

Taught in GRAD school. So people can (at least) be informed about a basic reality of this Country's historical past.

Certain "States" have always been a problem in this area as the people that live(d) there believed in the RIGHT of white folks to POSSESS "colored" folks as property. It is called slavery and it compels folks without $$ or power (in Law) to work for their owners (mas-sirs) just akin to a mule, or an ox.

Many folks within those same geographical area (some "States") still believe that way. Openly as well as closeted.
A very brief introduction to the history of the State of Texas would clue in anybody but those preferring the bliss of ignorance that supports their own myths about our History. Historical deniers. They come in all shapes and forms. The left tries to deny the full truth regarding Thomas Jefferson IMO. "Midnight creepin' to the servant's shack" is not exactly the kind of historical reality one likes to think of when we think about Jefferson. But, gotta reckon, it was just one facet of his character. It doesn't IMO tarnish the whole man. Fact is, the record seems to indicate he treated Sally quite well.......... for the times!

But anyways, the REAL crime here is the Right trying to make CRT a political issue, once again disingenuously trying to divide the Country over racial issues, in this case, one that isn't even REAL!
The Repugs have become the PARTY of white nationalists, bigots, and TeaParty Morons.
Ronald Reagan would abandon them and rejoin the Democratic Party IF He were alive today.
So would, DDE, and Lincoln, of course!

Correct. The 1619 project, or at least components of it, ARE being taught in public schools. That's a good thing, IMO.

Critical race theory is a sociological lens of analysis that essentially just examines laws and culture as it relates to race and racism. There are a ton of different components of mainstream thought that can be derived through CRT but that's the simple definition.

It's not super scary or weird. It's just a lens of analysis, a way of viewing interactions and society that should be taught as a voluntary course in college like other theories. The 1619 project is not the same as critical race theory.
