Game 79: The Spectres are shut down by Derek Lowe as the Bootleggers take the opener, 7-2.

Game 80: The Spectres explode for 29 hits and score in every inning but the sixth as they roll to a 20-6 victory over the Bootleggers. Kelvim Escobar gets his ninth win of the season. Three Spectres have four hits, including Melvin Mora, who drives in five and hits two doubles. Montreal hits four home runs and seven doubles.

Game 81: Montreal follows up their breakout performance with another (albeit more modest) win, 8-3 over Chicago. Michael Cuddyer hits a three-run homer in the sixth to break the game open.

Montreal finishes the first half at 39-42, still within shouting distance of the wild card spot.

Kelvim Escobar and Ryan Dempster both make the NL All Star team. Khalil Greene, despite accumulating 12 home runs and 59 RBI at shortstop, is snubbed.

The Spectres host Los Angeles to start the second half.

Game 82: A tight game becomes a blowout, then close again, in the ninth as the Spectre bullpen allows four runs in the top of the ninth but the Montreal hitters get three of them back in the bottom half, pullng within a run on Michael Cuddyer's two-run homer. That's as close as they get, however, as Carlos Delgado flies out to end it.

Game 83: The Glovers get 5.2 scoreless innings from starter Joe Saunders and nearly flawless work from the bullpen, beating Montreal 5-1.

Game 84: The Spectres bounce back from two straight losses to LA and from a horrific blown save (three runs in the ninth) by Ryan Dempster, capitalizing on Carlos Guillen's ninth-inning error to score the game-winner on a two-out single by Asdrubal Cabrera. Final score: 9-8, Montreal.

Interleague matchups with Seattle, Colorado, and Orange County will close out that portion of the schedule.

Game 85: The visiting Emeralds get a leadoff home run from Brian Schneider in the ninth (off Jeremy Bonderman), snapping a 2-2 tie, and make it stand up for a 3-2 win, retiring the Spectres in order in the bottom half of the inning.

Game 86: Aaron Cook throws eight 1-hit innings and Michael Cuddyer collects four hits in four at bats as the Spectres even the score with Seattle, winning 4-1.

Game 87: Montreal gets 10 hits in their annual visit to Colorado, but the Rockies outhomer them 7-0 on the way to a 12-2 blowout.

Game 88: The Rockies keep hitting on the return trip to Montreal, scoring five runs in the first inning and four more in the fourth. But the Spectres finally find some offense in the fourth, scoring at least two runs in five consecutive frames to rally for a 13-10 victory. Ken Griffey Jr. hits two home runs.

Game 89: The Spectres are 2-hit by Jeremy Guthrie and Bobby Jenks, losing 3-1 to Orange County.

Game 90: Kelvim Escobar wins his 10th game in front of the home crowd, making an early four-run outburst hold up as Montreal tops OC, 4-2.

We return to NL play with a trip to Cincinnati.

Game 91: Trailing 2-0, the Spectres stage a 5-hit, 5-run rally in the seventh and then get three scoreless innings from the bullpen to beat Cincy 5-2.

Game 92: Montreal doesn't start hitting until too late, stranding runners at the corners after a four-run ninth to fall one run short,8-7.

Game 93: The Spectres drop another one-run decision to Cincy, 7-6, when Jeremy Bonderman chokes up a 6-5 lead in the eighth. Montreal puts two runners on base in the ninth but Asdrubal Cabrera grounds into a game-ending double play.

We continue the road trip in San Diego.

Game 94: AJ Burnett throws eight shutout innings and the Spectres snap their two-game skid with an 8-1 victory over the Conquistadors.

Game 95: A leadoff triple by Carl Crawford and a groundout by Michael Cuddyer produce an early run for Montreal... it's the last one they get. A two-run second by San Diego is decisive as the Spectres drop a 2-1 game.

Game 96: Brandon Lyon falls to 2-5, allowing a run in the 10th to give San Diego a 6-5 win.

We host St. Louis next.

Game 97: David Wells, 2-12 entering the game, throws eight shutout innings at the Spectres and the Montreal bullpen implodes in the ninth, turning a close game into a 6-0 deficit. Chris Ray finishes off the shutout for St. Louis.

Game 98: St. Louis gets 15 hits, but not many of them produce runs, and the Spectres turn their 14 hits into 10 runs as they beat the Cthulu 10-4.

Game 99: Carl Crawford steals four bases and Montreal gets 18 hits as they crush St. Louis 15-1 in the series finale.

Next up is a road trip to Frisco, to face the West-leading Niners (60-39).

Game 100: Matt Diaz hits a three-run homer in the second, and the Spectres hold off the Niners for a 6-5 win, as Ryan Dempster loads the bases in the ninth but escapes with no damage.

Game 101: Khalil Greene hits a three-run homer in the first and the Spectres never look back, beating the Niners 8-4 behind Aaron Cook and two relievers.

Game 102: Ryan Dempster suffers his third blown save of the season, allowing a leadoff triple to Conor Jackson in the ninth, followed by a Juan Pierre single. With two down in the 10th, Montreal gets singles from Ryan Doumit and Carlos Delgado. Matt Diaz then comes through with a bases-clearing double. Gabriel Westrich allows a one-out double in the bottom half but nothing else, and the Spectres sweep Frisco with a 10-8 victory.

We head home to face Milwaukee next.

Game 103: The Spectres get three hits from Matt Diaz and four from Michael Cuddyer, including two doubles, two triples, and a home run, but nothing much from the rest of the lineup, and lose the opener to Milwaukee, 4-2.

Game 104: Ramon Hernandez hits a three-run homer to help AJ Burnett to his 10th win as the Spectres top Milwaukee 6-4.

Game 105: Matt Diaz and Dan Uggla hit home runs as the Spectres take the series, winning the rubber match 7-4. Ryan Dempster records a save for the second straight game.

The Spectres head to Houston to face the Lone Stars.

Game 106: Ramon Hernandez hits his second three-run homer in three games and the Spectres crawl back to .500 with a 5-1 win in Houston. Aaron Cook goes six innings and improves to 9-4.

Game 107: Shaun Marcum has one of his best starts of the season, but is outshined by James Shields as the Lone Stars shut out the Spectres, 2-0.

Game 108: The Spectres are shut out for the second straight game, this time being 1-hit by Matt Chico and two Houston relievers, losing a painful 1-0 decision.

We host Chicago next.

Game 112: Shaun Marcum gets some support from the offense for a change, and the Spectres survive a late rally by the Glovers to take the series opener, 7-6.

Game 113: Montreal scores five times in the third to take a 7-2 lead, but gives it all back, plus one, by the end of the sixth. The Spectres never get another run across, and lose 8-7.

Game 114: Montreal scores six times in the second and gets a pinch-hit three run homer from Asdrubal Cabrera in the ninth to cap an 11-5 win over the Glovers.

Cincinnati visits next.

Game 115: Cincinnati stings the inefficient Spectres, who convert 14 baserunners into only two runs. Meanwhile, Kelvim Escobar has an off day, falling to 12-7 as Cincy wins 8-2.

Game 116: Carl Crawford has five hits and the Spectres overcome a four-error performance in the field to top the Stingers 14-5. AJ Burnett gets his 12th win.

Game 117: Montreal scores four times in the opening frame and Shaun Marcum pitches into the eighth to win his fifth game, 6-4 over the Stingers.

The third round of divisional play is on tap; we start in Pittsburgh.

Game 118: Chad Bradford and Jason Frasor undo seven scoreless innings by Jake Westbrook, combining to allow four runs in the eighth to give the Melons a 4-1 victory.

Game 119: Fausto Carmona throws eight 5-hit innings and improves to 16-6 with a convincing 6-1 win over Montreal.

Game 120: Montreal goes down again, clearly outplayed in a 5-2 loss to Gil Meche, giving the Melons a sweep of the series.

Game 121: Traveling to Philadelphia for the next series, the Spectres finally put it together in the opener, getting seven scoreless innings from AJ Burnett and collecting six consecutive RBI singles in the seventh inning on the way to a 9-1 win.

Game 122: Jake Westbrook throws seven shutout innings and theSpectres blank the Cold Stealers, 6-0.

Game 123: Philly asserts itself in the finale, hitting two home runs off Shaun Marcum, avoiding a sweep with a 7-2 victory.

The Spectres host New York next.

Game 124: New York gets a two run homer from starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo and takes advantage of a disastrous 3-batter, 3-earned run relief appearance by Chad Bradford as the Mad Men take the opener, 7-3.

Game 125: Three unearned runs in the eighth on Dan Uggla's error lead to a 6-4 win for the Mad Men.

Game 126: Mark Texeira hits a three-run homer in the first for New York, but the Spectres chase Sergio Mitre with a six-run first inning, then add four more in the second. From there they hold on for a 13-8 win and avoid a sweep.

From here, it's off to St. Louis.
