Did the NCAA just slap USC with a wet fish?

Depends on who you ask. Some talkingheads make it sound like a death sentence. Others act like it's a slap on the wrist. I think 20 schollies and the OK for other institutions to raid their teams is a pretty big deal. Of course, the kids should be allowed to leave. They aren't the reason for it.

If Colorado is bolting for the Pac 10, and Nebraska becomes the 12th team in the Big Ten, then shouldn't the Pac 10 rename itself as the Pac 11 and have the Big Ten and Big 12 just swap names?

One would think. But I'm thinking the B12 is going to lose some more. I believe they're intent on becoming the PAC16 and Big16. And, as I said, I bet the SEC gets in on the acton by raiding the ACC. Clemson, Miami, Ga Tech and Florida St would be a nice addition for them. Then they could merge with the Big East and become the Big Eastern ACC with a North and South division of 8 each. That would leave 4 Super Conferences and still leave Boise State out of the BCS equation.

Did USC hurt themselves by hiring the biggest douche in college football as their head coach as the ncaa was making their decision?

No. Kiffin brought the best recruiter with him(Ogeron?). Sell a redshirt season and a probation season. Learn pro-style D from Monte Kiffin. I think USC would have preferred someone else(Kiffin was #3 on their list, I think) but Kiffin isn't a bad choice for that situation. And I'm a Raiders fan.

I have heard the SEC wants North Carolina. That the TV deal with them included is better than any of the other 4 ACC schools listed. They are not worried about adding a great FB team as they already have a ton, but rather the TV market.

If they go that route should they try to get Duke as well for the rivalry?

That's possible. I was just looking at it from a geographical, football standpoint. I have no idea if any of the 4 I listed would even care to join the SEC. But all 4 are football first programs with natural rivals already in the SEC. Duke's football program is a joke. If the SEC did that, they'd definitely be crossing into basketball land. UNC, Duke, Kentucky is a pretty good basketball base.

I suggest we don't tell our wives/girlfriends. Or, for the most part, anyone else.

Is Joran van der Sloot an egotistical psychopathic killer, or just a plain ole *******?
6/11/2010 9:06 AM
Shhhh. Don't tell my wife.

I think he's an egotistical ******* who killed a couple of girls.
6/11/2010 9:09 AM
can you blame him, tho?

I wasn't there so I can't say "TGWTD". But, after seeing his pic, he should probably be grateful that a woman actually talked to him. As a side note with crazy dudes and the women they abuse, I saw the police interview with Rapelisberger's most recent rape victim. If you can't answer "What position did he have you in?", I have no idea how you expect anyone to convict the dude.
