Is there any way to waive an ML player with options, in the hopes someone claims him and picks up his remaining contract? Is this even a thing?
I’ve done it many a times...... at least I think I have. Sometimes people want a player but don’t want to trade for them, or you can do it during revocable waivers but not put the player on revokable waivers and see if you can stick em with someone else.
Full disclosure, I've done this... 14 guys on revocable waivers, one guy with a contract I don't want anymore on regular waivers. And someone picked him up.

I have a question that I know has been asked before, but can't dig up the answer...due to real life getting in the way at the absolute worst time of the season, I had a couple of guys on my Tacoma team who were taken to a 3rd arb because I didn't have time to sign them long term. As a result, they are now refusing to sign extensions with me (something I knew would happen and is very unfortunate.) My question is this: if I were to trade them to try and get something for them rather than potentially nothing, does the team I trade them to have a chance of signing them long term? Or are they now headed for the open market regardless of which roster they finish the year on?

I think traded players will sign extensions after being arbed three times. Can't say for sure whether it's always or just sometimes, but I'm reasonably confident it's not never.

Possible but not guaranteed. Might be better than 50/50; might not.

Thanks all, that definitely helps gauge the value I might get back...and realize that I might be better off just taking the guaranteed comp picks.

It is definitely a situation where if you trade them to an owner that knows what he's doing, the contra owner may value your player less due to the lack of transparency of the player's ability to be re-signed long term. I am not a big fan of trades in general due to all the work and drama that they can cause, but if you don't mind trade shopping, I think it is definitely worth seeing what the market is. I really needed an infielder earlier and in order to get one, i overpaid a bit in one of my worlds so it doesn't hurt to try. Maybe you get lucky and get something back that is better than a comp pick.

Has anyone ever catalogued and posted the number of cycles draftees take to return a decision based on their categorization? Meaning, how many cycles before a "Looking to be drafted in the first round" or a "Probably won't sign" takes to come back with a decision? My assumption is the response time isn't random, but have never tried to document anything.

I know probably won't sign is around 4-5 days, and I think the lesser ones might be a quicker turnaround but I'm not 100%.

Can anyone tell me where new owners into a world can change the settings to use the default of the previous owner’s budget instead of starting with everything at $10MM?

There will be a radio button at the top of the Set Budget page to choose which option you want to use. But that radio button doesn't show up until the day to set budgets.

How do you submit a ticket/ask customer support these days? I genuinely couldn’t figure how to get there.

Was chasing an IFA who I’m positive just signed for less money than I was offering him, and he signed a minors only deal. That said, most likely explanation is that I’m just remembering incorrectly than there is a glitch in the system, I’d just like to confirm/understand. Not the end of the world but genuinely confused as to what happened (aside from the possibly explanation that I am remembering incorrectly)

Well, in 50 some odd seasons I think this is the first time that I've been in this situation (that I realized anyways)

Aaron Minicozzi is a good player, but not THAT good. He's ok at everything but not great at anything. A slash of 245/315/450 (the 315 on base is the killer) 18 stolen bases and not strong enough to be a defender that can play the center of the ballfield makes him slightly above mediocre but all of that adds up to an 87 overall which equates to him asking 8.75 a year LT. Assuming no one wants to trade for him, what would you do? I'll probably keep him until he's 30 then take the Type A but just curious if anyone else has had a similar player / situation.

Id try to trade him every season and if I do not get what I want id use him as as fill in utility type until he gets to expensive. Im sure you will find someone who wants him with that ovr. With his power he is at least serviceable at 3rd

Agreed with brian. His one plus skill - Power - is going to start declining right when he comes up for an LT contract, so you can plan ahead when to let him walk. He's exhibit A of how Durability drives Overall rating.
