We better have smooth sailing because I've had my fill of mismanaged and/or shady leagues lately. This one is already making me nervous and I really don't feel like screwing around with another progressive that'll be dead before the first season is half over.

Not to be a dick to anyone in particular, but I'm really frustrated over how most leagues have been playing out lately.

I already deleted my post that said the same thing....

I agree with the bolded area. I don't think he should be allowed to keep Delahanty.

Forum Posts: 774 We decided that you can play guys like Sexson or Biggio anywhere.

this is from the ad for the league in the classifieds. its a bit vague, but anyone can go back and look and read all of the discussions there. the question of secondary positions was brought up a bunch of times and it was decided that they could play any position. so i would think delahantys a legit pick on that note. sure, his primary position wasnt short stop, but the rule as written says you can take x player from y year, provided he plays z position. i didnt do my research that way, and i tip my hat to whomever figured it out. thats my opinion on the subject, ultimately commish has final say. if the rules don't provide an exemption, then i would think any of from 1890 would be cool, not just the prime ones.

Delahanty, Ed 1890 Cleveland Infants R 685 3 .296 645 .337 .414 5.80 73 $3,871,827 -- D-/D D-/D- D-/D+ D/C D-/C+

thats from the draft center.

It should be stated in the draft rules and noone should EVER be allowed to pick a player who is not on the available draft list as posted by the commish.

So I screwed up. Delahanty isn't a legal pick. I guess I just assumed I had missed him on my outfielders list, and I now see that he was a shortstop. I don't want to have to (and I doubt any of you guys want to) re-do the last 10-15 picks, but at the same time, Delahanty cannot stay in the league. So my idea is that mikemiele can have Eddie Collins (my pick) and I will just take someone new (as it is my fault). Would people be okay with this?

That works for me.

Spahn was already picked The Taint.

Who's to say he'll settle for Eddie Collins? Maybe he'll want a player that someone else drafted. We may honestly have to redo the draft if Delahanty isn't legal. It's up to mikemiele, I'd say.

Doh...that was dumb...even went back and looked...repick forthcoming, and what Kint says makes sense.
10/27/2009 5:26 PM
Okay, so mikemiele will have the final word.
