Dwayne Alonzo Washington (born January 6, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York). His nickname was "Pearl". He was a 6'2" (1.88 m) 190 lb (86 kg) guard.

Washington grew up in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, where he acquired his nickname as an eight-year-old in a taunting comparison to Earl the Pearl Monroe.

He was a playground phenomenon from Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, and was the number 1 overall ranked high school player in 1983. He brought his flashy play to Syracuse University and the Carrier Dome. The Pearl was the master of the "shake and bake", in which he would leave his defensive opposition standing still while he drove by them for a layup.

I can't find this guy on any keeper lists and he's not on the available players list so I'll take SF Ron Anderson. If somehow I'm missing him I'll take PF Mark Alarie.

I Just got done researching this and I'm going to ask Alarie to go to shaggy - here's why: When WandM took over Dave's team last year Dav posted his keepers for him. WandM missed the fact that Anderson was on the team and did not draft him. I didn't include him on this year's draft list since he was not a new player in the SIM for 86-87. At this point in the draft, he has way too much salary (17 million over the next 7 years) to have been missed by the last ten or so picks. Kudos to Shaggy for finding him, but I don't think it would be fair to get him at this point. I will add him to next year's draft for everyone to have a shot at him. By the way, WandM already has a full roster, so I can't give him back to Virginia. I hope this makes sense - Alarie is off the board.
