and ellis will be my 2 guard....i got a surprise for the 5th(at least i think itll be surprising)
He was a stretch considering his lack of minutes but the numbers are perfect (I think) for what I have in mind. Would love to here some more imput though. I really like this team but there are alot better owners out there than me.

well i guess tom boerwinkle isnt that big of a suprise pick...dammit sappy.....he was perfect

your quickly becoming my nemesis on wis sappy....first you take boerwinkle then you knock my houston team out of the playoffs in colonels league haha

agree about the lack of minutes with him but the amazing defense and rebounding, blocks, assists, low tos, and low usage make him a great glue guy....can you tell im jealous?

the long and short to your question emp, is, no... u can't compare an open league to the odl. players are exclusive here, therefore, getting things to fit are much harder and subject to exploitation from other teams. that's what makes the odl so much fun... in an open league, u can guard from certain calamaties happening, and u have rooks, and the waiver wire... in an odl, your draft is everything. no adjustments can be made once we start.

so, what category do u favor the most? def? efg% boards? orebs? i think in an odl you can settle for two or three categories at full throttle, but u will lack in other areas. i dont think the same can be said about an open league where u can put in rodman three times, and nash, and bird and moses... that would require a lot of first round picks in here, yes?

this is MUCH more fun and interesting than an open league i think. more of a challenge too.

Undoubtedly. In an OL, you figure out pretty quickly 2 or 3 teams you don't want to run into in the playoffs.

In every odl or funk52 I played in, I figured out pretty quickly 18 or 19 teams I didn't want to run into in the playoffs.

I've gotten more enjoyment from this draft alone than from any open league. I can't wait to get in some more draft/progressive leagues after BOWIS eats me up.

For me it was between Wesley and Brent. Was a complete toss up.

Gone fishing???? Wow Scud, how did you come up with that???

PG-T.Hardaway (pts,asst,3's)
SG-O.Robertson (pts,asst,reb 12+,def)
SF-J.Sloan (pts,reb 8+,def)
PF-B.Bridges (pts,reb 14+,def)
C-R.Parish (pts,reb 12+,def)

And, a very good usage rating for my starting 5.

what's a good usg rating?

cjok, i'm old and senile, pay no attention to my drivel and drool bucket commentary. just having a little fun while killing time on my vacation. however, u have lots of firepower, asts, and boards, no doubt, but i also see lots of t.o.'s and fouls. a team that lacks chemistry is a team that takes 1 step forward and two back. on the bright side, the list is long of the teams i have said are non-playoff squads but who have gone deep into the playoffs. peace dude, and gl2u!

i know u r addressing, cjok, monkee... but can i answer that question? please, please!
11/24/2009 11:43 AM
sure ( i was being socratic anyway)

Scud - Does Horseshoes and Handgranades mean I will be close but not close enough to making the playoffs or that my players shots won't get close enough to the basket ?

This is my first draft league and I am very curious about how I did. I like a lot about my team but am short on minutes since Drob and Dr. J both are going to cost me over $ 9MM each. I can't go with a cheaper Dr. J season as I need his rebounds.

My starting five will come in at exactly 10 usage points which may be too light for this league.

What do you think ?
