wtf?

I'm not sure what the ratings really were at the time of sim but when I looked yesterday afternoon my team rating was 544 and not the correct 554 that it is today. With that said it would suck if any of the results are different than the original. Hopefully it all works out the same.

Yeah DJ, the more I chew on this the worse it feels - I'm going to do everything to play exactly the same gameplan. It would be a lot worse if I won.

Heck, if I can keep you under 99 this time, it'll be a victory for me. ;)

My team is a 555 and had dropped to a 532, but I wasn't complaining then, even if I had lost, my only complaint would've been that my underclassmen didn't take such a hit like they had. right now, I'd rather the recruiting money and take the hit without complaints. Gotta love that mbalding was about to win the whole NT too, that would've helped my conference.

I'm sure mbalding will win it all.

pump -- No worries . If it's different I'll be ok with it. I can't remember what I game planned so mine might be different.

when i gameplanned - you were 554, i have it in a spreadsheet

i dont think the ratings *change* actually affected the games that were simmed
5/27/2010 3:19 PM
I'm pretty sure the ratings didn't change for the S16 games, but were different later that morning. I noticed them around noon yesterday. So IMO, the only games replayed should have been the afternoon games.

that sounds like speculation to me, tracyr. what do you base that on? from what I've read on the forums, it seems that different teams were affected differently (I personally have no idea how much/little my team or my opponent was affected). if there was a uniform 10% ratings drop per player, i'd agree that the ratings change didn't affect anything, but that doesn't seem to be what we have here.

it's a terrible situation, but what else is seble supposed to do? seems to me for the integrity of the game, you have to replay, at the ratings people worked all season to get to. People based their gameplans on those ratings, not the changed ratings. now i lost in the sweet 16, so i am admittedly biased to some degree, but i think i'd feel this way even if i'd won.

a 10% ratings drop would be 50+ points for a D3 team... the average ratings drop for players ifor both teams in my games was around 8 points... which is about 1 point down out of every two categories... not something major... even a 20 point drop would be just over 1 point per category... so you are looking at a 64 perimeter rating vs 65.

how exactly could one team be significantly more affected than one it was playing - by the time you make it that far, all teams are pretty similar (mbalding excepted) - if the change was based on some crap entry of bad code, then it was across the world, affecting everyone, not just one of the two teams in a matchup - everyone's practice plans are pretty similar, no way the variance is enough to cause completely hosed results - it should have been alone

the question posed before is the most important one - if Knight wasnt supposed to start the new HD until after this season concluded - how did that rogue code affect it?

5/27/2010 4:24 PM
orrdc, absolutely

there was no need to do anything but restore the ratings and move on
