And I thought the comment about possible NFL Dynasty was terribly mistimed.  You're thinking about starting a new game when this one is broken?
LMAO.  Where do I sign up for NFL Dynasty?

It's hard to  even believe this:

Talent is still very important with the new engine and is the basis for every single outcome within it.  Each outcome within the engine is still decided by the talent on the field and a player who is rated 85 is still better in that given skill than a player who is rated 75.  However, those skill ratings are not used "as is" within the engine and are modified by the player's IQ and experience.  This modification can be as much as 12.5% in either direction.  This means that the player who has the 85 rating could actually be playing at an equivalent of a 74.375 to 95.625 rating and the 75 rated player could be playing at an equivalent rating of 65.625 to 84.375.  Those are the extremes, but you can see that there are 10 points of overlap where these two players could be performing.

with all the upsets that have happened in the past two days.  even with the EXTREME modifier.

And yazr's numbers just make everything seem even more fishy.
Yep.. this is bull.  Damage control.

I'm glad joe chatted but it doesn't do any good obviously. Their sticking with this untested engine and they'll spend the next 2years tinkering with the piece of crap. I don't care about future upgrades the thing is broke.

I would sign up for an NFL dynasty right now as this engine seems more NFL than NCAA. I've been wanting them to do that since I got on this website anyway.

It won't take them 2 years to get it straight. It seems like they are working on it, and they don't want to lose customers. I'm sure we'll see changes over the next few weeks.

I have some real estate to sell you...

seems like a guy caught between Management and a hard place (us) -- he is in an uneviable position -- still doesn't make me happy

Right, working on it,  so paying customers have to beta test this for them? Now isn't the time to scale back the rewards system.  It's one thing if I paid knowing this was a new engine but to force an update that's not ready to be used by the masses is just a poor decision all around.   They really need to at the very least give everyone a few free seasons because we all are the beta testers for this whether we want to be or not.

Yep, many people are locked in for at least one more season on their teams due to redshirts and OOC games...

No its not broke, its working exactly as they wanted it. Here is the code for the new engine. Put teams into 2 columns: HEADS or TAILS. Then Jconte flips the coin and PRESTO....we have a winner!

joe, can you talk briefly about starters don't come out until they are exhausted in the red? Even a real team may sub some players and I'm not talking about total formations like in the past but maybe make it 80% instead of 60?
I think a disconnect here is that the icons next to players' names in the play-by-play are not the same scale as before and is more used to show how a player is progressing towards being subbed out of the game.  I'm trying to remember off hand, but I think complete red icon around 70% tired.  The various positions fatigue at different rates depending upon usage and will also sub at different times.  A QB will fatigue slower and stay in the game longer than a RB.

I understand that you do not have as much absolute control as you did before over subs and I touched on this in the Critical News post.  I am not opposed to giving coaches more control over subs, but it must be done in such a way as to be realistic and not create setting manipulation loopholes like existed before.
What about having a effectiveness setting for each position AS A WHOLE?  QB could be set at 85% and that would apply to all of your QBs, RBs could be set at 80% so all of your RBs would sub out at 80%, etc.  Just a thought.

I am tired of hearing about all the things in the old engine that made no football sense. Even though there is plenty of truth to those statements, the old engine is Einstein compared to the new one. Does anyone remember electric football? Remember how a player would circle around and run the wrong way while everybody else randomly ran out of bounds? The current results remind of those electric football plays.

Oh yeah, I'm all over the NFL dynasty - not.

Bottom line for me - million dollar ideas but $0.10 execution

And our $2 a week x how many teams is going down the crapper.

JConte, i had my Nebraska team lose to Missouri who was SIGNIFICANTLY worse than my team.  I also had a SENIOR RB who has been playing for years and has 91SPD, 88STR, 93ELUS, 870 OVERALL run for maybe 2 ypc.  Even if he had the full 12.8% REDUCTION from no formation IQ (btw i practiced formations for years) and from not starting in the past (he has started for about two years now), there is no way my RB should have been stuffed by that Missouri defense, it simply doesnt make any sense.

Your modifier, IMO, is way too high.  If it can make a 10pt difference in a players attributes then i think that is TOO SIGNIFICANT.  Maybe if it could make a 4pt difference then that would be more reasonable.  Give it some thought, bc right now it seems WAY too high.

Also, there's no way the 12.8% modifier could be the only problem with the code.  There is simply NO way.  Look at how many top ranked teams at all levels lost to SIMS, not to mention the ones who lost to very inferior human coached teams.  There has to be another problem somewhere in the coding.  Something needs to be done though.

I posted this in the council since the council is being ignored I will post it here. This pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

I was originally going to give it 2 months but I think I am going to quit my teams sooner. I don't believe midway through the season our  season should be thrown into such chaos. This could of been avoided by introducing these changes at the start of the season and by beta testing these changes before the season, but now if customers do what they say they are going to do, they are going to  leave enmasse...... I don't care about the money or reward points, what I care about is that I spend a lot of time recruiting and setting depth charts, and I am a little upset about my Syracuse lost today, who was ranked 2nd, and they lost in large thanks too 2 bugs. Its possible the only reason I was ranked 2nd was because others lost because they got screwed......

I am pretty upset right now, maybe I will change my mind before my seasons run out, but I am a few more big bug losses away from not signing into GD anymore and letting my teams die until the credits end and my teams turn sim.

What is with all the 0 and 1 yard passes and a breakaway running play is 4 yards?
This is the type of post that really gets my attention.  Plague is legendary in this game, across multiple worlds.

When the long term, top players in the game [and Plague is only one of many expressing similar dissatisfaction] suggest that the new game engine is awful, it is time to pay attention if you are WIS.

I agree 100%--I am strongly considering leaving...after an enjoyable six year run in gridiron dynasty.
