This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
I'd like to see the engine logic changed so that players can be moved to a different position that they are rated for during the game when circumstances arise (i.e. after an injury, defensive replacements, part of a double-switch, etc.)

DITR

Maybe complicated more than necessary but it would accomplish a couple of things.  1.  The players getting DITR would stand a better chance of being BL players.  2.  Owners would pay more attention to their minors and the development of their players.

A) Only eligible if team has a winning record at that particular level.
B) Only RL(rookie season), LoA(1st full season or rookie season) and HiA(2nd full season or less) players are eligible.
C) League leaders in specific categories get the 10% bump.  AVG-contact, HR-power, SB-speed/baserunning, XBH-splits, walks-eye and so on for pitching/fielding.
D) ONLY ONE BUMP PER PLAYER.   Which means a of a player isn't getting a bump in Contact, power and splits.
E) Only players on teams with 30 or more players at that level are eligible.

In short, owners wanting a DITR will manage their minors, promote their players and fill out the rosters.   DITR will become meanigful because good players will get bumps and owners wanting a DITR will pay attention to their minor league teams.
I like the intent, not sure if I agree with the means to get there.

A) I can see owners padding their lower minor league rosters with more advanced AAA and AA level players in order to try to game their way to a winning record.

B) +1

C) Not sure about tying it to league leaders because those owners who are gaming (A) can really foul things up.

D) Not sure how only bumping only one rating will create better potential ML players.  Modest bumps across multiple ratings would be more meaningful.

E) +1

A)  A winning record doesn't have to be "gamed".  Nonetheless, they still have to produce a league leader who also qualifies based on level/years pro.  The opposite could be true though.  Load up your roster to prevent other teams from getting wins.   Meh, I'll take that over 6-74 records.

C)  Highest stat amongst eligible players would solve that problem.

D)  The league leaders should be fairly well-rounded players.   If they aren't, the 99 power with 22 splits, well, it's a wasted FREE ratings bump.

Anyway, I expect the players getting the DITR bumps to be BL-quality.   I don't want to create super players.   I was just hoping to turn good players into better players IF the owner worked to make it happen.  All the ******** about DITR when you do nothing to get one kills me.

More awards : world series and lcs MVP. Plus another change that just popped into my head. If I want to see who won a particular award in a particular year I could easily find that. But what if I want to see the history of all the CY young winners or world series mvps? That would take a while. Add a new awards page listing that history. Just put a drop down box on the page to select an award then post all the players who won on one neat page.

Example, sort by NL MVP.
Season 1 _ john Johnson
Season 2 _ Roger Rogers
Season 3 _ Jack Jackson
Etc.....

On coach signing it would be nice if minor league coaches would sign at a lower levels if offered enough money.
Won't be necessary if unsigned coaches don't demand levels.
ML Coaches should only accept jobs 1 league lower. Its not realistic for a ML guy to sign in the RL.

A)  There was some "gaming" in MG's rookie league last season:

Rookie AL East (Season 20)

Team Owner W-L PCT GB L10 STRK Home Road Live Login
Cheesesteaks 98greenc5 * 75-1 .987 - 9-1 L1 38-0 37-1 0-0 7/28
Maroons victorzhao * 56-20 .737 19.0 7-3 W1 27-10 29-10 0-0 7/29
Green Mountain Boys dwoolery * 53-23 .697 22.0 4-6 L1 26-12 27-11 0-0 7/29
Terrapins mike1184 * 31-45 .408 44.0 2-8 W1 14-24 17-21 0-0 7/29

C) OK, that works for me.

D)  Still not buying it.

Right now, there will be 45 BL coaches with no jobs wtih two BL openings, 3 AAA openings and 3 AA openings.  In addition, there will be no HiA/LoA coaches available.  That's just stupid because, if you play it right, you could end up with the 5th best HC in the world at AA.

Unsigned coaches don't have levels.  They have demands.  Remove the demands and the world will sort out their level.

75% of that division would have qualified for DITR by a long shot.   Doesn't seem to have hurt anything.

D)  I'm not selling it.

So Arlen, instead of announcing DITR and getting your free big league player, why doesn't the odd projection, based on makeup, coaching, team record, etc etc,  just move unannounced?

Then, if you are paying attention to your minors, you notice said bump, and manage accordingly. Whereas the guy that has 20 players and has them at 0 (0) doesn't notice he's destroying a potential major leaguer, and we all laugh at him.

That's fine.   Of course, if you know the parameters, you can figure out which players get the bump for all teams.   If the other owner is a 'tard and just lucked into one, you can trade him crap for his shiny new DITR and commit a robbery.   Not sure that's a good thing.

another idea that I've mentioned in the past, as well as others:

a more dynamic defensive replacement (or injury replacement) logic.

Late in the game, I'd like the option to bring in a defensive replacement at 3b, while shifting my starting 3b to LF.  Similar logic could be applied when a pinch runner comes in, injury replacement, or after a pinch hitter is used and the team needs to take the field again.

In addition to rest, I'd like to have a "pinch hit only" option.  Not as useful w/ an AL squad there are times where I'm "resting" a starter, but wouldn't mind having him pinch hit, but don't want him playing in the field, or multiple innings.  sometimes the player rest scenerio kicks in where I have a guy moved to the bench for a day off, and in a blow out he comes in for the last 3 innings.

I'd like to see the opportunity to restructure the team budget after free agency ends.  For example - you're shut out on the big FA's and have $15-20 M extra in your player budget.  Right now all you can do is move that money to prospects (and lose half of it).  It would be great to have a choice to move some of it to your scouting budgets HS/Coll/Int) - transfer penalty or not - doesn't matter.  It would definitely be a time limited opportunity (maybe during the Rule 5 draft time period) and could add more strategy to FA acquisition and setting budgets.

Also - maybe after the regular season ends, the leftover monies tied up in player budgets would become available to sign prospects - moving it with a penalty is fine.  There have been a couple of times I'd liked to have that $$$ to sign a couple of potential AA Int prospects or some unsigned guys on my draft list.  It's a good game without either of these ideas - but - I like to have options - adds to the strategy.
