The crazy guy that lives down by the river just called....he wants his soap box back.
I thought his name was Matt and that he lived in a van.

I was always taught that if you don't have anything positive to say, then don't say anything at all. I see a lot of people in this thread never learned that little life lesson.

But then you get bulldozed by seemingly nice guys like yatzr, whose doing you a favor by selling you a product.

So you just become a sheep and braid up with the rest of the crowd?  Must be nice to live in that utopian world of yours.  Fortunately for the rest of us, there ARE people who aren't afraid to speak up when they disagree with something.  Damn, if everyone was afraid to speak up when they thought something was wrong, then the first person that spoke would always get their way.  Gee, what a fun world to live in THAT would be.......

Kinda disappointed 29707, usually you have some really insightful things to say.  Unfortunately, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.  Doesn't mean I don't still respect you or your opinions, just don't happen to agree with this one, that's all.  Still, hope you have a great day (because I'm sure not.  At least one of us can).  :^)

You should go ask the GD community how many of them have been bulldozed by me.  Seriously, I'd love to see the response.

You guys are taking the wording stuff way too seriously.  I've been using the word "donation" for almost two years over at GD and not once has anyone said anything about it.  I apologize for using it here.  Had I known you would've taken issue with it, I honestly would've worded it differently.

I believe there's nothing wrong with a healthy dose of skepticism, so I can't blame anyone for thinking what they think about me and my motivation for making this stuff.  I can assure you though, that if my motivation were to make as much money per hour of work as possible, I wouldn't be making tools for WIS games.

Yatzr, I'm sure you do great work and it really is cool of you to do what you do.  I just don't think that this thing is for me.  I apologize for any skepticism on my part, I've just seen another person promoting something vaguely similar to this in the past and all he did was basically take the money and run and leave everyone hanging with a totally unfinished POS (luckily I didn't fall for his scam).  Your intentions seem honorable enough and kudos to you for making a buck on the side.  Have a great day and best of luck with your project!

Wow, this thread got popular.  A couple of quick things:

yoijames is exactly right.  This tool, or any of my tools, will not magically make you better at this game.  That's not what they're for.  They're for saving you time.  Lots of time.

WIS knows about my tools.  Last I heard from them about it, one of the WIS employees actually uses the GD recruit tool.  Their stance is that it adds more to the game to have the community make stuff like that.

As for the $10 donation thing, 10 is an arbitrary number that was set from when GD users first gave me money before I ever asked for any.  The least any of them gave me was $10.  I wanted to give them back something, so I made new features of the recruit tool be donor only.  The original plan was to make those features be free after awhile, but the donors wanted them to stay donor only.  So now, I build new stuff for the existing donors, and it stays donor only because that's what they, the people who have given me money, want.  They keep giving me money, so I keep building stuff.  I don't make random programs in hopes that people will pay me for it.  I make programs for people that have already given me money.  That used to be limited to GD stuff, but it has now spilled over into HD.  That said, I am planning on making the HD recruit tool similar to the GD recruit tool where it's free, but some features, like mass recruiting and response processing, will be limited to donors.

hey guys read the last line.... eventually the tool could be free so i dunno why everyone is making such a big fuss about paying for it when he's just testing it now and the free version isn't out yet... theres no reason to pay for it if u just want the normal version... but the donors will get more features thats what the donation is all about
5/17/2012 4:46 PM
If it's eventually going to be free, doesn't that screw everyone that paid for it?  The payment process should work in reverse order...free, then pay, as opposed to pay, then free...that doesn't make sense.
5/17/2012 4:51 PM
no this version was supposed to be for the pre-existing donors that asked for it... if u wanted to become a donor.. u cud but he is going to make a free version

You aren't helping him, just saying...

The free version will be the bare bones edition.  The one you have to buy, oops "donate" towards, will be the bells and whistles model.

Ahhh, in that case, I'll just cheat/steal someone's u/p because I don't respect the program...

Man, do you search for something to criticize. Get off this thread. Some of us are grateful, and we'd like for yatzr to do this.

Again, you don't want it, don't get it. Pretty freaking simple.
5/17/2012 5:16 PM
I won't get it, I made that pretty clear in my first post...my most recent post was a dig at one of my most prevalent haters...yatzr should be happy that he's had to bust the money rake out here, and I really have no reason to cae-sari...

Jiminy Cricket, guys!  He's not hiding the fact that he wants ten bucks!  Quibble over terminology all you want, but nothing untoward is happening here.

"Wanna give me ten bucks for this thing?  Cool.  Here's this thing."
