Tortured language is trying to read through your fragmented sentence structure. I really don't see how whatifsport's statement can be read any other way than through the words they use.

"WhatIfSports reserves the right to take the necessary steps to correct the issue at any time without prior notification."

This says they have the right to close the loophole at any time without notification. That is all it says, the language is simple and clear. You would have no claims that whatifsports has stated it has the authority to do anything more than close the loophole. And to be clear, I'm not saying they don't have that authority, it just isn't stated here.
Projection on your part? Note that "correct the issue" is language without limits. If all they do is "reset" wizard's players, they have not yet corrected the issue. That would be tantamount to giving him a free pass for the damage he did to his opponents with artificially elevated players. That is no punishment at all. Punishment far beyond that is warranted. WIS has been notably impotent in correcting cheating in the past, but maybe this time someone with some cajones at WIS will act in the best interests of the game and the website. *fingers crossed*

I was going to post something else, but I think there's enough agreement that I'm done here. I am only bothered by the notion that some are pushing that this couldn't be considered cheating or that WIS lacks authority to take any action.

Certainly WE should be reset to normal improvement at the turnover. Maybe an affected player should transfer &/or go EE manually. Beyond that, I do not see the point of any punishment. The issue is not going to recur. I would rather see admin spend time on other issues.

As long as his team is reset, I think it's time to move on to other things. But it was definitely cheating and if they punish him more harshly, he ought to take it and keep at the game.

How do you know what they've done in the past?

Spud knows baseball. Bo knows football. Spud knows WIS

now that WIS has stopped further WE gaming, would be nice if they worked on the considering list glitch

I specifically took Auburn to exploit this glitch. I will be winning title after title!

Sounds like you don't know how the considering list glitch works -- it's teams at the end of the alphabet who have the advantage.

No sir, I have all ready anticipated their fix. The only logical way to fix the problem is to list the teams in REVERSE alphabetical order for the next 16 months. I am AHEAD of the curve on this one. Put on your seat belt baby, because my logic can't drive 55!

Auburn officially changing name of school to War Eagle University at Auburn.

I'm really confused what is the bug being discussed?

It is not a bug, just poor game design. If there are more than 10 schools on a recruits considering list, then the last group will start alphabetically. That means a human coached Virginia or Washington State could be lurking in the 'Very Low' list, but will be buried behind a bunch of "sim-ai" teams that the leader is confident they have beat. The alleged "lurker" could do this on purpose, then 'poach' on the signing cycle (depending on the signing preference).

This dramatically affects the budgets of D2 & D3 schools that are sitting on a D1 recruit behind spud's redlight. The argument being, "If I knew that Virginia was lurking, then I would either have put in no effort or a lot more effort on that recruit".

IMO, the resolution is simply to change it from "alphabetical" order to ranked by effort, prestige/division, or simply randomly. It is not an actual glitch, just a reason to prefer Washington over Auburn. There are any number of simple patches to resolve it.

its a design failure. Just not detected in short beta

- change order of display to put teams that have offered schollies ahead of those that have not
-change order of display to reflect effort/actual standings
- allow option for user to "see all"
