I think it was McCutchen, but I'm not positive.
That was one of my guesses. Also, Rick Reuschel, who I don't think ever got taken but had a pretty nice season at ~200 IP in the late 80s, I think.

shocking who hasn't been selected yet
I agree. Very surprising! Considered making that pick myself. A steal at this point for someone!
So now that we are past the Pirates, did the player(s) you folks were thinking about ever get taken?
It was MCutchen. A few different good seasons from which to choose too. Definite steal where he was picked.

Reushel is a good call though too.

Kevin Saucier - P

Had to look that one up :)

Saucier is pronounced so-shay, by the way. Haven't thought about that name in a while.

His promising career took a very unusual turn. Worth reading if you don't know his story.

Side note: My friend in high school (circa 1984-88) came from a family of Tigers fans. They lived in Los Angeles but bought a satellite dish just to watch Detroit sports.

We joined a rotisserie league together, one that cost a bit to enter so we went in as a tandem to split the cost. We named our team in honor of two pitchers who couldn't throw a strike anymore. The Saucier Cowleys.

The epic collapse of Joe Cowley was fascinating as well. From improbable no-hitter to out of the game in a year. Here's a fine NYT piece from Murray Chass:

Wow, those are a couple of great stories, thank you for those. Interesting parallels between the two players. Sounds like generalized anxiety disorder, a subject I studied a bit. It makes me appreciate players like Greg Maddux and what he did, the awesome control and how easy it looks on TV.
