Love this, and glad to see I'm not the only one who selected a player with absolutely no "strategy" in mind. I took Ripken because I have won only 1 TOC and it was with a team based on him. . . .so why not I figure. Of course in that theme he was ON my roster and in this one he is effectively blacklisted but let's not overthink this. :)

To Bigscungil’s comment: I still remember (from 20 years ago) a similar sign in Mount Holly Springs, PA for Sid Bream.

I actually almost nominated Bill Mckechnie because he was the impetus for my first ToC winning team. Nice to see its not just me

Our player pool pretty much sucks though. Not very many guys actually worthy of a $140M cap, sadly

That is part of what makes Round 2 fun, we're all stuck sorting through the wreckage trying to talk ourselves into who is usable. Rarely in one of these drafts do teams live up to what you'd normally see at the cap.

When everyone is playing with the same wreckage, yeah that's fun.

If there aren't enough high salaried players in this theme and most teams won't get close to 140M (without wasting salary on innings or expensive pinch hitters), then the few people who are lucky enough to randomly draw an early pick have a huge advantage. Not sure that was the intention of this league. Maybe you could at least align the division alignment based on team salary.
