You didn't get funds, if you say you didn't, because no one else applied for them. Although it kinda sounds like ab90 wanted them.

I'm over it. Quit doing it for yourself and others. The end.
You don't sound " over it. "

And all I'm doing is sometimes forgetting to renew. Not always. Sometimes. Seriously. It's not a thing I'm "doing". It's a thing I'm forgetting to do.

You should be over it - but I bet you'll be watching me like a hawk, with nothing else better to do. And you'll see nothing regarding cheating, but might likely continue to point the finger. It's very easy to accuse someone of cheating. It's very difficult to prove that you are not cheating once accused.

And someone else did apply. I had to wait a full day for renewal. Full transparency here. I'm just getting more comments because the others taking advantage of this are doing it quietly and not posting on this thread. I'm just forgetful, not rich, and don't buy 5 or 10 packs very often. That's it. It's that simple.

Whoa, really? To be honest bunch, I don't like what you're doing at all. But I'm way over it. I've never watched for it from you. Not even once. I've heard everything about this situation regarding you, here and only here. Also to be honest, my contribution to this thread was adding Clentens name to the list.

My earlier post about "come on, man" was more of a coaching up. Not chewing you out. I've always known you to be a good coach. I'm not sure that I've pushed you very hard in this thread. But I'll re read it all. I whole heartedly am not paying attention to you one bit. And I don't mean that in a bad way. I never led the cavalry on this.

But I will admit, if I was the one to notice it being done, I probably WOULD lead it. But i have not, sir.
OK - I definitely admit I was wrong with the "you're watching me like a hawk" statement. It's an overreaction due to my frustration with the vitriol in this thread when I'm just trying to own up and answer questions. You've been more fair than some others.

The "I don't like what you're doing" just frustrates me because what I'm doing is forgetting to renew.

Now I'll put it simply. I'm not cheating. Trust me or don't. And I hope the loophole is closed.

I'll side with you on one thing tho..... sometimes people say stupid **** that they know nothing about. And they exaggerate things and make assumptions for no reason, even if it's related to this subject. And it ****** me off honestly. So I understand your frustration on that part.

But I haven't followed along enough "myself", regarding this.

Somebody just gifted me a 5-pack. Wow. Amazing gesture....for real. That indeed will fix the problem on my end.

The loophole still needs to be fixed. Someone quieter about this will abuse it - maybe quite a few others.
thats cool!

You have to admit it's bad optics bunch. I lot of people including myself were willing to forgive you for the Initial response because you addressed it and were transparent which was nice, but doing it again a week later, I mean cmon. You just have to see it from our perspective. It's really bad optics.

I see your perspective on the first time and what you're saying about not doing auto renew, and that its hard to prove innocence. I get that. But just after the initial conversation, just set a damn reminder on your phone lol.

Thats fair. Wont argue with any of that. I was aware of the optics the day I forgot which made me consider just going ahead and switching teams.

the fact that you were considering abandoning a long time program over this shows its gone too far.

this is not a gambling game, this is a for-fun game, and enjoyment needs to retain first position over all other considerations. its not just for fun, first and foremost - that's the entire point - nobody plays this for the money. fair play is essential for the fun of many folks, i get that, but the fair play in this case derives its importance *entirely* from its boost to the for-fun aspect of this game (as opposed to a gambling game, where fun is not the main point and where fair play clearly holds a higher position).

while i generally support discussing these issues, the overriding context of this being a for-fun game needs to stay central the entire time. i am concerned that context is being lost here, at least in the case of bbunch. nobody is ever going to stop 15 year olds or equally mature adults at cheating at for-fun online games. its like trying to hold back the ocean. we are lucky not to suffer from much of that here - i think we should be grateful for that and chill the f out a little bit (at least as far as this one person is concerned).

I told y'all this was gonna be a fun thread

"this is not a gambling game, this is a for-fun game, and enjoyment needs to retain first position over all other considerations. its not just for fun, first and foremost - that's the entire point - nobody plays this for the money."

I partially disagree. 1st of all, Ab has openly stated he plays this game for money. You can win real money via amazon gift cards and the really successful coaches have gotten a few bucks that way.

But those folks are the minority. While this is a just for fun game, it is an expensive means of having fun for a lot of people. Some of us who have been playing for free for years tend to forget that. I'm sure many people on here can share that they've spent hundreds of dollars over the years on this game.

I think bbunch has handled this well. I also think most people commenting on this thread have handled it well too. Are some people giving him a hard time? Sure. Is everyone calling for his head and unequivocally calling him a cheater until the end of time? Definitely not. I think overall most people have been pretty fair and understanding - especially considering how these forums usually operate. Thewiz got it WAAAAY worse when the WE bug was exposed (although he handled it WAY worse as well).

I'll admit, the fact that bbunch did it again a week later was quite hilarious.

Just read through this and promptly turned on auto-renew.

Bbunch is on the Mt. Rushmore of IBA D2. One of the nicest coaches in the game. His NT previews were amazing and really got me into this game years ago.

I can’t believe he’d cheat like this. I’ve noticed him forgetting to renew over the years so many times but always just assumed it was an honest mistake. This is really shameful.

Cregen, I've disappointed as i've coached with you for a long time. I'm not cheating, all I have is my word. I'm just bad at keeping up with renewals.

Believe what you feel though. Read through the whole thread and consider how long I've been around here. This isn't what I do. I've got like a 10+ year history playing this game not using loopholes. I didn't just start recently.

On second thought, I do believe you. I guess I was just so surprised, I was willing to believe it. But you’ve built up more than enough credibility with me.

I’ll sit on your side of the courtroom during the trial. Well as long as Zorzii doesn’t sit too close.

Hey what did I do to you? I don’t even play against you, don’t ever remember arguing about anything with you...
4/15/2020 6:57 PM
Thanks Cregen. Please give me the benefit of the doubt here, you won't regret it. And hopefully I hope to find time to bring those previews back.

Really folks...and while i'll admit that it is quite ridiculous that I wouldn't auto renew at St. Mary's after the first 5 pages of this thread happened a few weeks ago , ( and apparently there's no possible excuse for a person to do this....there's no possible way anything otherwise distracting in my life could be happening), do you think I would purposely not renew AGAIN with the purpose of cheating......hoping not to be noticed by the same people "calling me out"? Seriously? Like I was supposedly out to "cheat the game" again and thought "this time I'll get away with it"? "Maybe they'll forget"? Come on. There's no logic there. I'm disorganized, not stupid. The moment I got St. Mary's back I went straight to this thread because I knew it would blow up. Again.

I guess I'll just repeat all this again. I suck at having money in my account during auto-renewal time for various reasons (usually lack of disposable wealth, or lack of focus on WIS deadlines because I have much larger deadlines in my life + the fact that not all of my teams make me money), and I often forget. I have forgotten on and off for years most likely. Sometimes I don't forget. I imagine I've been equally successful when I forget and don't forget. I don't have a history of blowing people out of the water in cycle 2 of recruiting, which would be the advantage I would supposedly get.

The problem is the loophole, not me. And the more transparent I attempt to be....the more people come out of the woodwork.

Wanna guess how many people actually legit site-mailed me to ask if this is legit rather than posturing on a forum? 0. 1 person site-mailed me... It was Benis. Basically accusing me of abusing a loophole. And then he immediately started a thread. And here we are.

I hope this thread has provided a good distraction from the insanity of the rest of the world right now. We do all need this. And defending myself here is not nearly as stressful as many other stresses in my life, so no skin off my back.

Everyone agrees the problem is the loophole rather than you. And I feel like people are being relatively rational and you are two. It’s just bad optics from you the second time as I’ve said previously.

Like, my issue is, you’ve spent more time on this forum arguing, then if you would just checking deadlines every so often. The bottom line is, you’ve been around for 10 years. You know you’re going to be around for longer. Instead of having 0 seasons bought, why not just always have 1? Like I am not at the point yet where I play for free because I have had a lot of rebuilds and still do, but I always have 1 season in there. And after I see the job cycle, I’m like oh, time to get another season so I always have one in there. I just think you should do that. You’re still using the same amount of money, you’re just buying that one season during that other team’s renewal (so you have a season for the next team).

I'm really not on the forum very often other than this thread. It's been a while. But yes, I'll continue to respond on this thread as long as it is warranted, as long as it's "about me" or what not.

Personally, My life is full of deadlines. WIS deadlines just don't always make the top of the list. (Courtmagic saves my life in a few worlds by always posting recruiting deadlines the day before recruiting starts on the coaches corner - I love that he does that). I love strategy and the simulation aspect of the game, the make-believe, pretending I'm a college coach - that part is fun. Not so great on following the calendar. I also have a bad habit of not starting cycle 1 of recruiting until day 2 sometimes due to not logging in for a day or what not. It happens.

Why not just always have one season paid for? Poor time/money management with WIS? A monthly paycheck that I wait on to fill teams? The answers to that question kind of forces me to get personal on a level that I would rather not. Lets just say if I had the disposible income, I'd be constantly living off 10-packs because I really enjoy this game.

I really don't think like people are being terrible, or unfair, or anything like that. You've been more than fair. It's all good. I don't do well with the passive aggressiveness of some, or those that boldly assume that i'm 100% a cheater. But I would not describe most people in this thread that way. Very little said in this thread bothers me, but on the same token, I will defend myself when people make incorrect statements about me.

I respect your approach, sportsbulls. You ask good questions, which I don't mind answering. Thanks.
