stalling won't be a factor if round 2 going forward is on the clock. I mean we're already at 17. I thought it was a long shot we'd be using 19-20 seasons when the decision was made to start drafting before Savage I playoffs ended. that and the fact that WIS is unreliable when it comes to new releases for basketball.

dh555 is historically pretty clock averse. I would be pretty surprised if we went on the clock before the halfway mark of the draft at the soonest. Plus, falling too far behind in this league would spiral pretty quickly

There are at least 4 time zones here that I know of, probably more. It should reasonably balance out across the 12 rounds. I wouldn't bother adjusting for it.

It could be that any picks made between 11PM-7AM add zero time to your total time.

I said I would get back in the league at 8:46...I was given the go ahead that it was my spot at 9:27...I made my pick at 10:04.

If this is going to be a thing then I respectfully ask that this chain of events be taken into consideration.

The last Savage draft took 16 days. The last ODL and $52M drafts took 12 and 13 days respectively(7 rounds). That 16 days was pretty good for a 12 round draft. That puts us at August 20/21 time frame. That timing is not unreasonable given the info ben has posted.

That was my rationale for taking Giannis.

Right but that’s why I think a good compromise would be “if new players drop by 8/21, regardless of when the draft ends, then you can use them” - because then you still get the effect but without anyone potentially purposefully stalling since it wouldn’t matter with something like that in place.

It is literally just data. Nobody is telling anyone to do anything. This is like people complaining about open salary systems because they don't want to be embarrassed about making more than others.

Open data is good.

So - I'm doing this for fun and to make light of my seemingly growing reputation of being a draft dragger. Not calling people out. I'm pretty competitive and hoping this will drive me to prep more. Of course it's entirely possible gathering the results distracts me from being ready and I actually take LONGER to post my draft picks. We'll see...
