@tarheel1991 and @jcred5: I understand the sentiment you are trying to make and I have immense respect for both of you. But I think you are drawing a false equivalency here. Do we want the league draft to happen? Yes. Does that mean we have to present a nonchalant reception towards people having a cavalier attitude towards the draft? No. You enter into a social contract to actively participate in the draft. Do you have to draft within the minute? No. **** happens. Does the occasional pick sometimes take a while? Sure. Do we need to pretend like it is cool for the same handful of owners to regularly, over the course of many drafts, take several to dozens of hours to make picks? We do not. At our current pace this draft will take just over 24.7 days to complete. That is not acceptable and in my opinion far worse than just letting owners who aren't as poor at managing time/communications manage a second team if they want to... or even waiting longer to start to recruit people who will actually pay attention.
