btw Muddy - blackhawks cancelled the alumni dinner and rescheduling is TBD. Got the email today... but it bodes pretty well for me to ask that question once the hawks are out of the playoffs in the first round and the pens are still advancing.

No sense in making any playoff bet until things are settled and we see who is healthy.  If Sharp re-tweaks his knee, I surely wouldn't like our chances.

You guys should DESTROY Detroit these next couple of games w/o zetterberg. Toews is an elite player.... 2 points in 7 games down the stretch = elite for hawks fans.

I dunno about destroy, as the Hawks and Wings are equally as banged up. Plus Detroit is still fighting San Jose for 2nd. Toews will definitely need to step up if the Hawks have any chance in these two games, but Datsyuk is one of best shut-down players in the NHL so it's not gonna be easy.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the Hawks end up playing the Wings in the 1st round? it could potentially be a 9-game series (counting this home & home), lol. If the last match-up is any indication, we're in for quite a weekend of hockey from these two clubs.

Nope...they technically need 3 points to clinch independantly of what Dallas does.

Otherwise Dallas can still sneak in if they win both in regulation/overtime and Chicago only wins 1 of two in a shootout because the first tie-breaker is be regulation+overtime wins. Chicago has 1 more than Dallas right now.

Dallas also holds the second tie-breaker, which is amount of points earned in the head-to-head season series.

I wasn't aware that all elite players always make it out of the first round, regardless of who they play or what teammates may be at full strength.

they don't but Toews is especially elite.  he is a golden god!!!! He can part seas... He can turn water to wine!!! Surely he can get his team past the 1st round!!!!

roenick must know nothing about hockey.   wtf... during the hawks pregame show he only brought up sedin, perry, and thomas for mvp.  how can anyone forget to mention toews? roenick was a hawk for christ sakes!  

keenan knows nothing about hockey either - he only mentioned sedin, perry, and st louis for mvp.

my vote definitely goes to Corey Perry. He's almost single-handedly gotten the Ducks to the playoffs. That said, because the nhl rarely gives awards properly, Daniel Sedin will likely win it.

Dominant game for the hawks tonight. They rolled 4 lines effectively and a big part of that was that they seemed ready to play from the drop of the puck for one of the rare times this season. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Had to miss the game tonight and I sure missed a dandy.  Hawks are 1 point away from clinching a playoff berth and could clinch tonight if Dallas blows this late lead.  Even if they don't, we have our last game at home Sunday against a severely depleted Detroit team.  One measly point.  It would help if Anaheim lost their last two as well.
