Randle, I have no problem admitting that Lu had a below par season last year.  If you look at what he has done outside of last year his numbers are among the best in the game.  We have a much better defence in front of him this year.  I don't see any reason why he won't thrive this year.  I predict the conference championship that the 'experts' thought we'd get last season, this year.

if it's any consolation, kipper was slipping for a couple years, but bounced back last year with a great season (tied for ninth in save percentage and seventh in GAA).  just didn't have the offense in front of him.  so lu could regain his form... or continue to play below par.  have to wait and see.  :>

I see Willie Mitchell just signed with the Kings...2 years 7mil?????  Kings are going to like that salary as soon as Willie takes one big hit to the upper body.  As muhc as I like Willie, he's not worth even half that much dough given his recent history with concussions.  Heck, he didn't even know if he was ever going to be able to play again until a few weeks ago.

if he stays healthy though delta, he is worth it.  kings are taking a risk, but there's always a chance it pays off.  :>

and two years isn't that long of a contract.  if mitchell is taken out again, he'll likely retire at the end of the season.

I agree with you that if he is healthy he is still a good defenceman. I do think that 3.5 mil a year for a defensive defenceman is too much regardless of who it is. If he chipped in even a little offensively that might change things, but Willie's game is pretty much only defence.

 Nice move by Gillis ,getting one ofthe Canuck killers on our team by signing Torres,now we need to get Hejduk and we'll be doing good..I always wished someone would kick the f*ck out of Torres but now that he's a Canuck he's ok..
