Hawks are past the half way point in the season.  No way you catch the Red Wings.  You will likely finish behind the Preds too.  Preds have three in hand on the Hawks, but the interesting thing with Nashville is they have only played 18 home games compared to the Hawks who have played 25.  Tough to gain on the Preds with that dis advantage.  Hawks could finish as high as 5th seed, assuming you go 10 plus games over .500 the rest of the way.

38 games left so you go 24-14 you get 97 points likely good enough for 5th seed.  Anything less than 10 games over .500 and you may be in the bottom 6.

Hawks can't worry about other teams.....Just go ten games above .500 the rest of the way and you are in the playoffs.

97 will still be the eighth seed juskay, it just might not be the hawks.  all they had to do was get a point to clinch, and they choked.  now they have to hope for the lackluster wild to stop the stars from winning in order to be in.  interesting final game of the season at least.  but of course once (if?) they make the playoffs, it's a whole new ballgame.  :>

Pat Kane had an absolutely miserable game today. All in all it was an entertaining game, as they have all been between these two. Interesting how the strength of this team all year (pp) let them down in the end. Howard and Datsyuk were unbelievable today. Datsyuk just shredded the Hawk D every time he was on the ice.

Well, time to retool and get ready for next season as I seriously doubt the Stars manage to lose tonight.

Looks like I'm rooting for the two Canadian teams in this years playoffs.

Toews was on the ice every two shifts and was pretty good. The hawks didn't necessarily play a bad game, Detroit just played better. As disappointed as I am, I can't really complain about getting beat by a better team.

Kane was hardly miserable.  He made a great play on the forecheck to set up the Frolik goal.  He also just missed a few connections that would have been sweet set-ups.

That loss today never should have been the deciding factor for our playoff chances.  We gave away far too many points to talentless garbage teams early...Edmonton twice come to mind...and they came home to roost today.  Even after winning the Cup last year, too many guys didn't learn the lesson...60 hard minutes every night is required to win.

moy, have fun not winning the Cup again!!!  Toews is still elite.  Pretend you got invited to another non-existent dinner and ask the pretend guests if toews is elite or not.  Then get back to me.
