Flyers 6....UGH!! Topic

Big game today.... I'm bracing myself for a total meltdown by the flyers..... but I'm hoping this game mirrors the ottawa game and we beat the crap outta them in more ways than just the scoreboard.

How about that whole game today. From Giroux's and Carter's 3 point days, to Carcillo's fight, to Bob. Just a great all-around performance. The only thing I was dissapointed about was it was yet another game in which they took a shutout into the third and couldn't keep it. The flyers are one of the only teams (The Maple leafs are the other) without a shutout.

Great game..... thoroughly enjoyed the *** whooping of the hawks. Woulda been sweeter with the shut out.

I say it's Bob's best performance of the year so far.

He was sharp... made some great saves... especially when the game was tied in the first

Bobs wins 6 straight. 21-6-3. Flyers roll the Habs going into the break.

Bobrovsky kind of reminds me of Niemi at the same time last season...except for the fact that he's playing more regularly and I think he'll have more staying power.

Bob was a little leaky in the 2nd period, but came up big when pressed. The scoring depth continues to amaze me. Nice way to go into the all-star break.

It was awesome to have the Habs subjected to their olé serenade in Philly. How about this whole team this year! Just think what waould have happened if they had lost that shootout to the Rangers last year.

I heard that Richards was invited to the ASG, but he already had plans and didn't want to let down his friends.

I disagree about Bobs being a niemi lookalike. Bobs has some sick natural talent when using his legs to block and going post to post at age 20. He seems to be getting better all the time out there. I'm not saying he's the beat goalie or anything like that... but niemi reminded me more of boucher where he looks more trained than natural in the net.

Truly.... that playoff run has instilled so much confidence, unity, and drive in these guys. Philly would have been flops this season without that run imo. Amazing what its done to this team.... you can feel the excitement just watching them.

Another note about bob.... before the season the hockey know-alls said he needed time in the ahl to learn the north american rinks, goal angles, and gamestyle... he's certainly proved them wrong imo.

Then he was a quick success and all the hockey know-alls could say is shoot high on him.... which worked... until he learned to defend that. He's getting better rather quickly.

I like the comment that one of the broadcasters made about Bob camparing his rookie season to Ron Hextall's. Bob's season so far this year is the best rookie season for a Flyer goalie since Hextall's.

To clarify, I meant in terms of the team playing so well in front of him and him seemingly coming out of nowhere (because as you mentioned, everyone thought he was a year or two away). I wasn\t necessarily comparing play styles and you're 100% right, Bobrovsky does have more natural ability than Niemi does.
