Brewers : Back in First Place Topic

Just a simple polite request was all it took.

Brewers are one of four teams considered to be "serious" in their courtship of Carl Pavano. This cannot end well.
12/8/2010 10:36 PM
I'm sorry.
12/8/2010 11:16 PM
Pavano's a Type A free agent, too. Levine says the Brewers are discussing a three-year deal for Pavano.

It's SON OF SUPPAN!!!!!

Brewers select some 6'8" pitcher from the Orioles in this morning's Rule 5 draft. They see him as another potential Kameron Loe type.

For public consumption, anyway, Melvin has indicated that he's not willing to offer Pavano more than two years. YAY!

Probably a lie, but a comforting one.

It looks like the Brewers may have traded for Zack Greinke

Indeed!

Now they're saying Jeffress was not included, but a PTBNL is.

Damn, I didn't expect Greinke to go to the Brew Krew. At all.

Two nice acquisitions for the Brewers this offseason.  They went from having an incredibly thin pitching staff to a really strong 1-4.  They just need to find a shortstop who can field and not be a huge liability at the plate now, which really would be another upgrade for them in the short term at least, considering Escobar did not really hit last year and isn't great in the field, and the Brewers really lacked in the field in 2010.

Rosenthal now tweeting that Jeffress might be included after all. Whoever the fourth player is, the Royals are said to be looking at the medical records. The only "medical" issue Jeffress has had is his inability to stop from buying marijuana.
12/19/2010 12:57 PM
It's for medicinal purposes.

Good day in Brewers land. Will help numb the blow from the inevitable ***-kicking that will occur tonight.

Brewers sign reliever Takashi Saito to a one-year $3.2M deal.
