I've gone from wanting to win the whole thing, to wanting to win a title and contend for another one and make the playoffs in one or two other leagues, to wanting to make the playoffs anywhere, to wanting to go 5-0 at some point anytime with any team, to wanting at least one team to finish above .500, to just really wanting the team I thought would be my best to finish with a better record than the team I thought would be my worst.

It's amazing what you can get used to.

When did you say we might run the second iteration of this nonsense?

Over time, I've learned to become more realistic about my goals. For me, the dream has gone from “getting famous doing comedy” to “making a living doing comedy” to “finding $20 in the street.” I feel like that's way more realistic

That was my original strategy, focus on creating 4 strong teams. But now I'm thinking the winner of this league will probably put all 5 teams in the playoffs. With only 4 teams making the playoffs, at least 3 better go to the 2nd round and 2 of them should have the first round bye. That's what I'm hoping for. Considering the winner will probably have 250+ points and we're at 33 and haven't even played games outside of our division, it may be a little too early to give up hope or count chickens.

I'm in the trick you all into thinking I'm not a threat phase. So far, so good. Too bad we're not playing Catan.

I’m in the “the phoenix will rise from the ashes!” phase. After some alterations we had our first 3-2 slate in a while, so maybe I’m onto something. So many minutes to play with. Still trying to figure out the right mix.

I never left the “we don’t know **** until game 20” phase.

What’s your favorite Catan expansion? I like Cities and Knights best I think.
